Telepathy is the ability to "communicate mentally" with another person's mind without openly engaging in communication with him/her. It's like being able to read each other's thoughts.
This is within the realm of Extrasensory perception (ESP). It's the faculty of perceiving beyond the five senses..that's why it's "extra sensory." Also related to clairvoyance ("clear vision" ) where a clairvoyant person claims to have the ability to "see" things, objects, people, or future events beyond normal sense or sensory contacts.
