With the world’s eyes on Afghanistan, how does the Taliban represent Islam?

Interesting, seeing the US is literally a melting pot of all races. Literally, we have pretty much every race here.
While we've been in Afghanistan making life unlivable for them for at least 20 years. Can you imagine growing up in a world were you're scared of blue skies? Its quite sad to be 10, 12 years old and afraid of clear skies because then you're an easy target for a drone.

Of course you can't picture this, not as you sit in your recliner eating cheeseburgers watching football. I mean why should it affect you.. but refugees? God forbid the chickens come home to roost, right?

"No refugees here", hey here's an idea jackass. Why don't you spend an hour in their shoes?
We were 80% white in 1990. Almost 90% white in 1960. This "melting pot" is a recent trend of the last 20 or so years. These refugees should have fought for their country harder or sided with the Taliban. Losing has consequences, time for them to deal with that.

Not even 3 centuries ago we were 0% white.

We never should have put boots on the ground 2 decades ago. All for a false flag that drug us into an unwinnable, never ending war. A nation is traumatized and for what? So the global industrial complex can line their pockets?

All of it is lies, we can't trust anything they tell us. These people are defending their home while we have no business what so ever to be there.

I agree with the bolded. Those same people are big fans of refugee programs. Mess up those countries then import the refugees. I'm against foreign intervention and refugee programs. I guess these people should have sided with the Taliban and resisted American occupation. If we refuse refugees it discourages people in foreign countries from working with us in the future which is good.

Thousands of U.S. citizens are trapped in Kabul with no ability to get to the airport. As Taliban soldiers go door to door, searching for Westerners, these U.S. citizens are now reaching out to Washington for help.
******
“We’ve been screaming at the State Department over this issue,” one senior GOP Senate staffer told me. “This is a s---show everyone saw coming, and they didn’t do a damn thing about it until about 24 hours ago, after days of pounding on them by the Hill.”
State Dept and DOD have two options: negotiate safe passage for American citizens with the Taliban, if possible, or send the military into the city to bring Americans back to the airport before the Taliban gangs find them.
******
The blame game can wait. Thousands of Americans could become hostages or worse. Every hour that goes by without action places them in greater danger. Rescuing them is the most important thing right now.
******
Is anyone old enough to remember the Carter presidency? The rising oil prices and inflation, and of course the Iranian hostage crisis! Well, it’s unfortunately de ja vu all over again.

I think the narrative that the Taliban is going to take over Afghanistan is largely bullsh*t. No empire has ever been able to take over that region because it’s composed of disjointed city states, each with their own culture, language, disconnected by rugged terrain and impassable mountains. sometimes there will only be one road between them, and if city a doesn’t like what city b is dishing out, all they have to do is blow up a bridge and they’re completely disconnected until the bridge is rebuilt. They’re not taking over Afghanistan any more than the USA, Great Britain, solviet russia, Alexander the Great, or anyone else who tried to is
Ummm the Taliban are from Afghanistan.

Not sure why you would compare them "taking over Afghanistan" with foreign invaders.

The Taliban have agreed to let the Americans out. They'll all get out safely. That's fear mongering and politics. I don't give a fuck what Lindsey Graham's staffer says.

Idk it’s weird to comprehend. Being a military brat, I’m hurt that we sent troops over there and lost lives for what? Were we there for keeping heroine production?

Were we there trying to buid a democratic society? Giving people who are otherwise oppressed a glimpse of hope and to just straight up leave no remorse

They hated what we were doing. They hated the Afghan government which was ridiculously corrupt. They hated our mandatory gender studies programs and female Parliament quotas. Turns Afghanistan didn't really click with neoliberalism. Our own democracy is pretty garbage these days and we're trying to implement it in foreign countries? Oh and don't forget about bachi bazi. A lot of Afghanistan military/government officials liked to r*pe young boys and the US military ordered our troops to look the other way. A big reason the Taliban gained popularity in southern Afghanistan.

Basically our puppet government in Afghanistan was complete garbage and a lot of people found the Taliban preferable.

This is all very strange.

Fox News and the right wing are doing their usual nonsense and just being political hacks and hypocrites

But the liberal media also seem to be attacking Joe Biden, for "making a big mistake". I find this strange.

No matter how you get out of Afghanistan, this was always going to happen. It was right for Joe Biden to pull out. Is he going against the agenda by doing this ?

I don't know why you'd find that strange at all. The liberal media have been mouthpieces for the MIC for a long time. It seems half of MSNBC's contributors are MIC shills.

Once they tell the media the troops are going to be used against American citizens they’ll understand. This isn’t a person capable of “going off script”0453955E-01BA-4423-B47D-B3CB7CB30F29.jpeg

They dont need a few thousand troops from Afghanistan to "go against American citizens". They've got the National Guard and the Reserves.

Sorry but something else is going on here.
