wow so these members of congress have nothing better to do than to "check in" on insurrectionists.

Seriously ?

and we still have fools on this forum who dont think these Republican nutjobs supported and instigated Jan 6.

Members of government openly supporting insurrection. What a crazy world we live in.
Insurrectionists who didn't have firearms and 99% aren't charged with a violent crime.

Also I have to LOL at vancity complaining about Republican politicians wanting to visit the 1/6 prisoners when Democrats were promoting the bail funds for all the BLM rioters doing way more damage and hurting more people. This guy is so low IQ.

Prisons have protocol. Prisoners are only allowed visits by lawyers and people on approved visitor lists in many prisons (not all, but usually federal). If those politicians wanted to visit someone they should have followed the proper procedure and got added to the visitor list for the person (persons) they wanted to see. It was a publicity stunt. It worked because the vast majority of people are completely ignorant to how prisons function. And apparantly how governments function since their swallowing “lawyer not allowed to see their client” without question. As well as the ridiculous stories that some haven’t been allowed outside in weeks - when federal law prohibits that and even prisoners in solitary confinement have a open cage outdoors they are made to go in for one hour per day. It’s mandatory.

why do people think they are above the protocol EVERYONE else has to follow?

I wasn't commenting on the process or the denial of visitation. I was responding to vancity's tirade over the fact that the politicians even wanted to visit or show support.

I was watching the Olympics and thought, what does being American even mean anymore? What are the values tied to being American? Consumerism and hedonism? Diversity? Meaning we have no identity and it's a bunch of dispirate groups. Diversity isn't an identity, it's the opposite. It actually means we have no identity.

For people like Jess who don't think the 1/6 prisoners are getting a raw deal and having their rights abused.

Judge: My concern is government chose to arrest someone over six months ago and detain him. Not violent, no criminal history. "That does not feel at all what the Constitution, Speedy Trial envisions."

Judge: "You would not arrest and gather evidence later?" That's not how this works, he says.

Judge: "I am concerned about constitutional rights at issue here. I don't think I can detain someone this long."

6th amendment?

You might be a bit confused.. ALL prisoners in this country are getting a “raw deal” so excuse me when I don’t shed a tear when the treatment that’s been doled out and applauded by certain kinds of people is what they end up dealing with themselves. Get back to me when they’ve served four years in solitary confinement for not being able to pee with someone watching them. Maybe I’ll give a shit then.

Ignoring Georgia Illegal Voting Proves Democrats Don’t Care About Election Integrity At All

While Democrats and their partners in the press push the Jim Crow canard, they ignore the real disenfranchisement that took place in the mess of the 2020 election.

On Friday, when The Federalist broke news that recently obtained evidence indicates more than 10,300 Georgia voters—a number that continues to grow—voted illegally in the 2020 general election, the corrupt press ignored the story.

Instead, corporate and government media focused that day on Democrats’ calls to ditch the filibuster to push through H.R. 1, the so-called For the People Act, and the White House’s announcement that “Biden would travel to Philadelphia on Tuesday to discuss ‘actions to protect the sacred, constitutional right to vote.’”

In covering these stories, the press continues to parrot Democrats’ spin that H.R. 1 is necessary to protect the right to vote which, the left claims, is under attack by GOP-controlled states “after Republicans seized on former President Donald Trump’s false claim of massive voter fraud in the 2020 election as a pretext for passing new legislation curtailing ballot access.”

Democrats persist in their claims that these state laws “disenfranchise large numbers of voters, particularly voters of color,” with President Joe Biden calling them an “ongoing assault of voter suppression that represents a Jim Crow era in the 21st Century.”

While Democrats and their partners in the press push the Jim Crow canard, they ignore the real disenfranchisement that took place in the mess of the 2020 election, a minor fraction of which I detailed last week in reporting on new evidence that indicates more than 10,300 Georgia residents voted illegally.

Illegal voting might not be glamourous and it definitely doesn’t garner the headlines, but every illegal vote counted cancels out a lawfully cast ballot, thereby disenfranchising the latter voter. And a voter holds a right both “to cast his or her vote, and the corresponding right of each of those legally registered voters to be protected from having that vote diluted by illegally or fraudulently cast votes.”

But in Georgia it now appears near-certain that tens of thousands of residents voted illegally in the 2020 general election. Yet there is a collective yawn by the same politicians and press corps desperate to sell the tale of impending disenfranchisement in red states.
Merrick Garland threatens prison time for organizers of ‘Election Forensic Audits’…
Department of Justice chastises supporters of election integrity for demanding “an unusual second round of examinations” in states with reports of widespread voter fraud.

The agency suggests these audits could violate the Civil Rights Act of 1960.

“There are federal or criminal penalties attached. Those who arrange forensic audits of the 2020 election can face fines of up to $1,000 and imprisonment of up to one year for each violation.”

“The Attorney General is authorized to file a civil action seeking preventative relief” against those who organize election audits, the guidance explains.

Everyone has the right to a speedy trial. Seems like you're talking about people convincted of serious crimes. Probably drug dealers who moved serious weight. Comparing that to tresspassing lol.

what rights we have and what happens in reality are two completely different things. There was a kid in nyc held pending trial for over three years, in solitary confinement, for shoplifting. He killed himself when he was finally released. This happens ALLLLLL THE TIME.

No lol. Not at all. How long have you been here? My husband is not a drug dealer. Not a rapist, a murderer, a gang member or a violent criminal. He did YEARS in solitary confinement for not being able to take a urine drug screen while he fought for the “right” to be Catherized instead. So.. as previously stated “cry me a River”

none of y’all gave a fuck about the despicable conditions in our nations prisons or the joke of what we call a justice system BEFORE.

Special election that happened the other day in my home state. Quick summary, the establishment puppet won (Shontel Brown) and the outsider/independent thinker (Nina Turner) lost. Heavily black district. Biden and the Congressional black caucus backed the establishment puppet while Bernie Sanders and AOC backed Turner. Brown was running ads (with millions of dollar from Israel) about harsh words Turner had for Hillary, Biden, Kamala Harris and the DNC. Because God forbid anyone has a mind of their own or thinks the establishment is corrupt.

While I disagree with Turner on most issues, like Bernie I respect them to some degree in that they have principles unlike establishment garbage like Biden and Shontel Brown. More evidence that blacks are absolutely useless in combatting the establishment. They are perfect low IQ fools for the establishment to use to keep their power. They literally do whatever the DNC tells them to do lol.

whites are fairly low IQ to vote for Trump and fall for his nonsense. Especially the 2nd time around.

Turner lost because the establishment flooded money into her opponent, and believe it or not she probably seemed too radical to even the heavily black district, she was trying to rep.

She would have been by far the most progressive member of Congress had she won. No wonder millions from Israel came flooding in.

For the first time in US history, the white population actually declined.
