Why is Feminism much worse than Cancer nowadays that is caused by women which keeps most men single?

Our entitled lazy culture where people want shit without working for it or think that everything is like a movie and demand instant gratification 24/7 has, again, nothing to do with feminism
Disagree but you know this

Men have had a significant increase in suicide and mental health issues over the same time period. So obviously there is something effecting BOTH sexes and it’s quite a leap to assume it’s feminism. There have been other things going on in the world other then women being granted almost equal rights.

I’m closer to 40 then 30, weight 100 lbs soaking wet, take care of myself.. am not lonely, do not own a cat. So idk what your on about tbh
Exactly. As to the last bit of your reply, I never understood why men always think any women who agrees with any part of feminism must be unattractive or fat. Or that somehow wanting equal rights and to be treated like a human being somehow must mean that you don't care about your appearance anymore lol. I take care of myself now at 23 and I'll take care of myself at 40 too, and not because I'm trying to attract a man but because I have respect for myself and my body. That respect for myself is part of why I hold the beliefs that I do about feminism lol. Not that hard to grasp. I have a dog though, does that count?

I don’t think so, after thinking about it it seems pretty clear to me that the industrial revolution changed nature, and feminism was a natural response. And the feminism that women here advocate for like @elsbet said, isnt the feminists plastered across the internet for the purposes of making you mad and believing that’s the norm. Why should women still be denied inherentacne when their father dies for example? It just doesn’t hit the nail on the head
My issue has been with the social ideas and concepts that accompanied feminism, not specific working rights.

Not going to spend 10 minutes back tracking. Idk why you couldnt have just answered the question i just asked now with a simple yes or no.
Because you said it was a point I made already so I'm asking you to prove that claim. We both know you understand just how annoying it is when you think people are twisting your words.

Most people who’ve been here a long time know what I look like so the assertions are comical but whatever makes them feel better I guess

Drifter: So can you provide the broader, more objective historical context of gender relations? I never said men have an inherent tendency to abuse women. I just pointed out the patterns with how men treated women throughout history, regardless of class. I trust the men in my life who have proven they wouldn't hurt me. But I also have men in my family who actually have hurt other women I love, who I steer well clear of. Just becase I know I can trust my father and brother, doesnt mean I trust men as a whole, which I don't. I dont trst women as a whole either but I'm infinitely less terrified that they'll physically hurt me and even if they did, I have a better chance of defending myself. It's just common sense to be weary of men, especially as a woman. Sorry if that's offensive but that's hardly the fault of women.

Me: You kept affirming that women(in a general sense) have suffered abuse and mistreatment at the hands of men and that this reality largely defines the history between both genders. It makes no sense to come to conclusion other than men are abusive toward women by nature. Even patterns are based off of tendencies. Thats basically what your own findings reveal. Men are abusive to women by nature.

Drifter: It does largely define the relationship between the two genders. You haven't been able to prove otherwise. Its captured in everything from religion to law to art. That's the Genesis 3:16 curse at play -men dominating and brutalizing women. That is what I personally believe. The relationship between men and women has been largely painful and the happy successful ones are the exception.

Me : You are right when you say scores of women have been mistreated, but to say that defines womens history is utterly dishonest and to teach that to women is dispicable.

Drifter: You think I want to believe that as a women? Do you have any idea how disheartening it is to read about that crap? Ok so provide a rebuttal. Show me what the true history between men and women is.

Wasnt even that hard, honestly.....

Thanks. And so how is this equivalent to me saying all marriages were abusive? I even went out of my way to clarify that was not what I was saying. I just pointed out patterns whose gender dynamics were enshrined in law that you still refuse to acknowledge.

No, I said that you insisted nearly all marriages were defined by abuse and mistreatment before feminism. Everything you just said affirms this.

Sure man, on all the stuff you’re talking about, now that youre saying it’s not feminism
Now your asking why I believe most marriages fail nowadays for reasons that arent spiritual or feminism related in nature?

What else do I blame?

feminism
the sexual revolution
the dating revolution and apps, smart phones, dating websites, and social media that can provide any person with unlimited dating options and instant communication to potential dating options people keep in their smart phone
lost masculinity
lost femininity
fatherless children or children with parents with dysfunctional relationships

Those are just a few to name off....

No, I said that terrible gender dynamic largely defines the relationship between men and women for most of human history. I wasn't strictly referring to marriages, nor was I strictly referring to abuse. And yet you still were unable to provide a counterargument other than projecting your own beliefs about what constitutes an abusive marriage. A slap here or there is ok, remember? Leave off.

Funny enough those are all technological and hence industrial revolution related.

It’s crazy because back before the industrial revolution people tended to live in extended family groups where childcare and work responsibilities were evenly shared among multiple generations.. if a husband and wife didn’t really like eachother much there were other people around anyway, and if they split up they could go back to their own birth families and the kids didn’t have such ill effects since they were still in a community/family setting and there were still male and female role models. The economic effects of divorce weren’t as devastating either (not just formal divorce a lot of people went there seperate ways unofficially back then)

I guess I am failing to see the point your trying to make.
it’s simply really, The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human being to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries...

just kidding I do not advocate for Teds ways but his writings are strangely salient

Ok, but then again would you say its right to solely blame the IR for everything bad that has happened since and not place any blame or responsibility on any of these things I mentioned?

What did all these social ideas(concepts) and incitation's that accompanied womens rights with feminism have to do with the industrial revolution? Why did women start to view men as oppressors and begin to frown upon duties and obligations that they used to primarily perform? You are telling me feminism was solely to do with women's rights and didnt contain any social ideas that changed how they view themselves, what their focus should be, their husbands, and marriage in general?
