The last part of this article I thought summed it up nicely (bold emphasis mine):

I think the book does reveal a sentiment that exists within Jews and Judaism. It was probably released with intent to separate Jews from the rest of the world with zionism though. For example, the most revered teacher in modern Judaism says the entire universe was created for the Jews
