When people get in groups, immaturity takes over.
Once you mature enough, you realize how the scripts are the opposite of how they appear, and a lightbulb goes off. In essence, everyone is too wrapped up to take an accurate measurement of the power dynamics at play. This is a lesson I literally remember from 4th grade.
Unfortunately, we repress the good with the bad. I should have built on the power dynamic lesson as a kid, but instead, it's like I felt some shame. I should have felt like a cult leader and apparently didn't want it. I know that might sound bad, but as a philosophy, I made the wrong choice.
I think that most people want safety and comfort instead of power. So any way you slice it, it's better for us to become the cultists than to let the cultists run wild.
