Ahem...... so basically
going back to the TV and I Love Lucy I think there were people disturbed by it and worried about the TV zombifying people
what I want to know is how people can just sit and watch TV and it not bother them that they're watching content designed to program them.
But basically we can see that technology has been used in an Aldous Huxley way to make us like Brave New World (and 1984).
I think this has been the trend since TV. Therefore, the more technology we get, the more it will be used to submerge us into a state of immersion.
What I mean is, for example, virtual reality.
And you can see Idiocracy really happened. So.... as we get more and more technology, we will get more and more dumbed-down.
These trends are not static states but... well they are trends, they are advancing. Look at how dumber the hip-hop has gotten just from 2007 to now
2007 looks like a golden age compared to now and in 2007 I was looking at the 90's and early 2000's as like a golden age.
We will get dumber, more immersed and certainly more perverse I think when the sex robots become a thing (I'm not for them but I wouldn't put it past people) and become normalized.
The other thing is we will also be even more programmed than now. Whatever the future will be, I am expecting weirdness. Lots of weirdness (like the aforementioned sex robots, trans...speciesism or who knows what). Apparently we have to think weird thoughts to guess at where things are headed.
Anyways, where do you think the future is headed, where do you think the technology is headed?
What will things be like 10 years from now?
Of course it's not known for sure but- it's interesting to think about and there are people who have predicted where things were headed in the past..... I think we can se ewhere things are headed based on following the trends of the present.
