Start with music with relevant lyrics

Are you enjoying it yet? Gertrude feels like she's been mind raped.

And remember, it can go under your hair! You wouldn't even notice!
Worried? Never mind. That nice Dr Shipman can give you an injection for that.

Also note that in the IngSoc dictionary they are not nanobots, they are tiny injectable machines.

I will update this thread when and if I bother. But for now I will just ask you Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? and leave you with some nice music.

And yes. I know it was a shit film, you have to read the original, but Muse didn't do a video for that very excellent song.

He said this entire album was heavily influenced by George Orwell's 1984. If you listen to the words, it's pretty obvious...
I remember that coming out. That eye of Ra cover in the record shops.
They released old and wise as a single. I liked it. It reminded me of some books I had been reading. (Zelazney, Amber, it was the shadows thing... lol...)

Lots of interesting lyrics there. Thank you for mentioning it.

Nicholson1968 talks a lot about this topic.

Definitely worth checking out if you want to dig deeper on this @Cintra
Thank you.
Yes, I am very interested, I will be checking those out.
I feel that the increasing mechanisation of life, the increasing virtualisation , the ever present observation, is the most dangerous thing going on right now, and is ultimately inimical to human life as we have known it.

And apparently they mixed human and pig DNA, though some sources say monkey and pig. Scary nonetheless.

Not your typical 80's metal lyrics. Even more relevant today than back then.

Up here in space, I’m looking down on you
My lasers trace everything you do
You think you’ve private lives, think nothing of the kind
There is no true escape, I’m watching all the time

I’m made of metal
My circuits gleam
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean

I’m elected electric spy
I’m protected electric eye

Always in focus, you can’t feel my stare
I zoom into you, but you don’t know I’m there
I take a pride in probing all your secret moves
My tearless retina takes pictures that can prove

The Wall by same artists would be apropos. Mid-70s, my first hangover as a teen, listening to The Machine the next day for first time. Alan Parson's I Robot about the same time. Great music/lyrics. Great messages.
