Hi,
@cdigital379
I think that
@CherryMocha didn't mean to be harsh on you or something, but what he/she said has some truth in it...
You see, all of us are here, it's like a detox-camp: we are/were fans of idols, and we want to get rid of this. We want to un-blind ourselves out of their spell, to free our souls from them. It's like here we are at that anonymous alcoholic's forum, wanting to give up alcohol, and you come and tell us 'Hey, liquor is so sweet'... it surely is, but is it not harmful? Yet, even though your enthusiasm and kindness are refreshing, you encourage the fan (the idolater) in us, and in you as well. Maybe each one of us has memories of the time they were carelessly listening to music, memories dear to their heart. But now we cannot un-know the truth, we must grow up, we are not teens anymore - their darkness has touched us, we cannot keep on clinging on the idea that they are innocent. Let's be real: they are there for money and fame, we are just a drop of water in their ocean of obsessed fans (nothing for them). We want to think that they care about us and all, yet you see, when there is no income, the groups disband. They are there with a purpose, preying on our souls and turning us away from God, even though their concepts and music seem innocent. Maybe the idols themselves do not know what they are doing.
Also, since the system is so draconic, being a fan, actually indirectly encourages the idols to stay, to keep on harming themselves ('I have self-worth only as an idol, only as long as I have success'). We should not hate them, we should pray that they will get out of it, but, we should protect ourselves as well. Here Satan comes: not as a horned creature, but as the thing that you cannot let go of, as the thing most dear to you. If we were to think, what would God want of me? Is it not idolatry to be a fan, as the time and energy that I can invest in my relationship with Him, to use in fangirling? I would say that God wants ALL OF US out of fandoms, otherwise, we would have not seen the symbols and the dark in the entertainment industry. He does not want us to hate on them, but to keep the distance, as we are fighting with demons - that inside of us, those in the industry, that keep luring us back in. Why should we idolize the idols (they are called 'idols' just for this reason) -- God created them as human beings as He had created us. We could say that we are better somehow in this aspect- free of the system, free to live a normal life, free to search for God, with a stainless soul. We should not admire them or see them as idols/artists, but as poor souls that want to get out and cannot, and persons that need our prayers more than our fangirling. God has given us a gift, we now can see, yet we are still tempted by those idols and we don't even try to resist it... Doesn't God feel sad, seeing us like this? He opened our eyes, but we want to go back to how we were before...
I do not want to lecture you, I think that you are a very warm, bubbly and kind girl
But I just wanted to say that we should be united and see beyond the surface: yes, CherryMocha seemed harsh, but he/she meant good. And, after all, we are here to fight, not to rest. It is hard for us, especially during this time, but we should not find peace in kpop, music and all, but rather in quietness and prayer. Your energy and style are refreshing, but, for most of us here (including me), maybe reminiscing of the times we were fans... could be rather painful -- it is better to not think of those memories, to not bring them back at all.
I wish you all the best, and I hope you did not misunderstand me. Thank you for your activity here and thank you for being one of us, not one of them
God bless you, and us all!
