I wonder what the punishment is for starting wildfires or if they get punished because it’s considered protesting?

My 75-year-old mother had to be evacuated earlier this week because of these fires. She’s going to be fine and her home isn’t really in any danger, but I have other relatives in Oregon who have lost everything.

Arson is a class A felony in Oregon and Washington. Think big fines and years in prison. It will be interesting to see how those arrested will be prosecuted.

Rioting didn’t used to be legal too.
With protestors in general being released with zero consequences for setting buildings on fire, looting, beating people, attacking police, etc, I can see the same happening with the forest fire arsonists if it turns out they are BLM or Antifa. Maybe slap on the wrist super light sentences? Why would Dems hold them responsible when it's clear they want to promote chaos, lawlesness, and inflict maximum damage in their own states?
Gonna take the feds to stick to law and order here?

There’s a federal task force that’s arresting and charging rioters now because local law enforcement is being held back by local government. It wouldn’t be too hard to extend their purview to include arsonists, especially if fires have affected federal land.

Seeing as we’re being told they’re a result of climate change, it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out who “bonos”. Climate activists did the same thing that in Australia. Set fires, blame climate change.
Or the people who bankroll those activists?

Problem with this climate change talk/problem is it almost always culminates into sugar-coated population culling.

Seven people have died from these fires, which puts murder charges on the table. If the arsonists have crossed state lines to commit these crimes, they are definitely open to federal charges, and the feds are not playing the same games the state and local officials have been.
