Edit: As Muslims we seek nearness to God not union. Union with the Creator is impossible because the Creator is not part of His Creation.
A basic tenet of Islam is that anyone who says that any creation is part of God is a disbeliever.
The Creator is not part of His creation. Would a car maker be a part of his car?....... And to the Creator are the highest analogies.
When people espouse theories about God as being a part of his creation they open the door to worshipping the Creation which is the worst sin in Islam. They will say that they are worshipping God through an idol or a righteous person or anything created that they think will get them to God.
As Muslims we say that the Creator is separate from His Creation. Thankfully we dedicate and devote our lives to him. We try to be God-centric without trying to be part of God.
We pray that our deeds and intentions are acceptable to him. God willing.
Hope that clarifies our stance and I will also post videos about the Islamic creed.
Kindly, adhere to the rules of this thread, This is a thread about informing people about Islam the religion not promoting the controversial ideas of some thinkers.
(Only, brothers and sisters in Islam are welcome to post resources in this thread.)
I have posted some videos that you are welcome to check out. While I explain this thread I am grateful for your effort to explore Islam and ask the Creator to guide you to His straight path. Ameen
Some Quranic verses :
“ [The Mushrikeen (those that associate partners to God say] ‘We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allaah’” [al-Zumar 39:3]

“Have they taken (others) as intercessors besides Allaah? Say: “Even if they have power over nothing whatever and have no intelligence?” [al-Zumar 39:43]

“And verily, if you ask them: ‘Who created the heavens and the earth?’ Surely, they will say: ‘Allaah (has created them)’” [al-Zumar 39:38] (Ibid., 21-23)

“Say (O Muhammad): He is Allaah, (the) One [Ahad].

2. Allaah‑us‑Samad [Allaah — the Self‑Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)].

3. He begets not, nor was He begotten.

4. And there is none co‑equal or comparable unto Him”

[al-Ikhlaas 112:1-3]

“And your Ilaah (God) is One Ilaah [ilaahun waahidun] (God — Allaah), Laa Ilaaha illa Huwa (there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He), the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful”
[al-Baqarah 2:163]

“Surely, disbelievers are those who said: ‘Allaah is the third of the three (in a Trinity).’ But there is no Ilaah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilaah [ilaahun waahidun] (God —Allaah). And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall on the disbelievers among them”
[al-Maa'idah 5:73]

They acknowledged that Allaah is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and the Creator of the idols, as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And verily, if you ask them: ‘Who created the heavens and the earth?’ Surely, they will say: ‘Allaah (has created them)’” [al-Zumar 39:38] (Ibid., 21-23)

I’m sorry I didn’t realize ibn arabi was considered a controversial thinker. I found it inspiring so thought I’d share. Not trying to upset anyone. Thanks for sharing

For @polymoog et al :)

“And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is over all things competent. Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding. Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], “Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire..”(Quran 3: 189-191)
Allah says, “I have not created men except that they should serve Me” (Quran, 51:56).
“[Remember] when your Lord extracted from the loins of Adam’s children their descendants and made them testify (saying): ‘Am I not your Lord?’ They said: ‘Yes, we testify to it.’ [This was] in case you say on the Day of Judgment: ‘We were unaware of this.’ Or you say: “It was our ancestors who worshipped others besides God and we are only their descendants. Will you then destroy us for what those falsifiers did?” (Quran, 7:172-173)

Allah Almighty says in Quran: “Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose) and that you would not be brought back to Us?” (Quran 23:115)

“Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.” (Quran 57:20)

“Satan’s plan is to incite enmity and hatred among you with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and regular prayer. Will you not then abstain?” (Quran, 5:91)

"Years ago a colonialist killed your forefathers, drank their blood and burnt their books and went on and drew some lines on a map and you define yourselves by those lines".
