Who said she isn't sueing? She was clearly unjustifiably detained. Hence the reason why the feds let her go!

You asked for evidence people were being detained without cause and I gave it to you. So stop moving the goalposts man.
My goalposts are exactly where they’ve always been. You are the one who said that the constitution is being ignored, but you have yet to show a single example where that was the case. I’m not one of your stupid circle jerk retards who just swallow whatever crap the media tells me to. I need compelling arguments based on fact. So far I’ve seen none of that. Unless you start marking sense, I’m going to move on.

So far, the contention is that secret and disguised police are flouting the constitution and arresting innocent people indiscriminately. So far we’ve seen nothing that backs up that statement. Someone being arrested and then released without charge does not fit the criteria. Try again and let me know when you have a coherent, fact-based argument.

1 person being detained without probable cause is all I need to show to refute your sweeping generalizations. The example I gave may not fit your arbitrary interpretations. But they fit the literal meaning of the law.

More important than you ignoring a clear 4th amendment violation. You're completely missing the 8th amendment violations against cruel and unusual punishment.

Tear gas, water cannons, detaining people for hours, essentially humiliating them. Are all cruel and unusual punishment. So yeah you can be done, because you are no constitutional scholar.

Do you even know what probable cause is?

Lol, it's not picking out a random girl from a crowd of protestors. It would be, Idk and try to stay with me here. Someone who started a fire or threw a projectile. What we see in Portland is basically policing by intimidation. Moreover, simply declaring a riot doesn't meet a standard of probable cause to arrest anyone there at will.

It's impossible for us to see eye to eye here because your arguments lead to martial law. Mine leads to compromise.

Sounds like she was arrested for probable cause (she was in the middle of a riot), then released a few hours later. This has happened to probably thousands of people, including plenty of journalists and photographers, during these protests and the attending riots. You wouldn’t know this because you seem pretty clueless in general, but authorities can hold a person for up to 72 hours without charging them. She was out in five hours. Someone call the ACLU. If she had a case for her constitutional rights being restricted, she’d be suing.
The ACLU is already suing them for what’s going on. And no, you can’t just arrest anyone you want for no reason and “hold them for 72 hours” that isn’t how it works.

What is that supposed to prove? That federal authorities are arresting people suspected of committing crimes? Is that illegal now?
It’s illegal when the only evidence of any crime you have is there proximity to an area where “crimes” may be being committed. It’s illegal when you don’t have reasonable cause to believe THAT specific person committed a crime. You asked for videos of unidentified agents throwing people off the street into unmarked cars. It was provided. Don’t go switching goal posts now.

maybe this will help you understand:

A strategy of tension (Italian: strategia della tensione) is a policy wherein violent struggle is encouraged rather than suppressed. It is usually associated when governments, or security apparatuses within a government, allow or even encourage extremist groups to perform attacks, bombings, murders, and the like. In extreme circumstances, it can even involve agent provocateurs and false flag operations where a terrorist threat is outright invented or created.

The goal in such strategies is that such a struggle will rally support behind the military or police forces opposing the radicals, to radicalize opposing movements so that they can be better marginalized, or to permit loosely allied extremist groups to attack enemies of the government. As few organizations would openly say that they are pursuing a strategy of tension, accusations generally come from opponents that such a strategy is being pursued.

stole from frank Badfinger in another thread because this definitely belongs here.

Stole from @Karlysymon because this also definitely belongs here.

As Silvio Berlusconi’s administration faced similarly threatening protests, Cossiga urged them to rerun his playbook:

[They] should do what I did when I was interior minister. … Pull back police from streets and colleges, infiltrate the movement with provocateurs ready for anything [emphasis added], and for ten days let protesters devastate shops, burn down cars, and set cities aflame. Then, emboldened by popular support … police should have no mercy and send them all to the hospital. Not arrest them, because prosecutors would just free them right away, but beat them all and beat the professors that encourage them
connect dots yourself.

So right-winger's hearts do bleed. All it takes is the idea of some random business burning down. No one can name the business or anyone impacted, but let's all jump on the faux outrage bandwagon.

Excuse me for not joining the rights brand of Social Justice Warriors.
Who wouldn’t be sad/concerned for the people that lose their businesses. Ya, I guess since right winger’s do actually work, we know and understand what it takes to own your own business. While the other side just wants handouts from those same people that work. You’d think they would understand that by burning down and hurting business...they are actually hurting the hand that feeds them? But, I guess not..since all they understand is violence and destruction. Perhaps the people who sounded off on violent destruction in video games had a point?

Not only that...there were living, breathing people in the burning building. Did the compassionate rioters care about that...doesn’t seem like it as they started the building on fire and then made it difficult for the fire crew to get there, pull those people out and put out the fire.

The love of people has grown cold.

1) you don’t work
2) you don’t own a business - your HUSBAND does. There’s been no indication that you help him with that business in any way - other then spending the profits he brings home
3) when given proof of people murdered by cops who lost a lot more then their business you demand comprehensive investigations before penalizing the officers. When told a business burned you demand kidnapping any and everyone off the streets that may or may not have had anything to do with it.

do you pray for forgiveness for your hypocrisy? Or does Jesus’s blood cover you for that?

1.) I have worked...
2.) He does own his current business with his partner..but I stay out of it. On our taxes it says we own the business...lol!
3.) Given proof of people murdered by cops? Criminals killed by cops you mean? And depending on the circumstances...you remember context means something?

Who’s kidnapping anyone? They are being arrested for their part in the riots. If you don’t want to be seen as being a rioter..then stay home...otherwise you might get arrested..and they will figure it out from there. But, I imagine that they are pretty smart and understand who’s got business downtown at 2am and who doesn’t.. ;)

You are nothing but a propaganda machine on constant repeat. Absolutely nothing.

criminals are still people btw. People who don’t deserve to be killed unless they pose an imminent violent threat. We have hundreds of examples of that not being the case. But I guess it’s easy to write off when the dehumanization agenda has completely taken hold as it seems to have done with you.

you have nothing to do with your husbands business so truly stop trying to claim that you “know how hard it is” in order to drum up empathy for your cause. You aren’t an authority on the matter. Your not an authority on anything based on your brief work experience for pocket change.

You're missing the point, that nobody should be social justice warriors. And you along with many on this thread, clearly lack the self-awareness to realize how LIBERAL (and fascist) you're sounding. I understand I'm bringing out the tough love here, and that can be kind of intense, but it really seems necessary.

When a forest grows too wild, a purging fire is inevitable. As such, this whole issue should be solved through the lens of causality, not our own day to day personal whims.

Criminals are still people but they aren’t trustworthy people because of their criminality. Most people get that...most people also get that cops killing blacks is rare..and even rarer then black on black crime or black women aborting their babies...but there is no common discourse or rioting over those things. So..black lives matter only in certain circumstances.

A job is a job...snob much?

So should we go kill all untrustworthy people? Will you be lining up first? Does not being trustworthy really warrant a death sentence without remorse while a business (which btw can also be untrustworthy) burning deserves a memorial and national grief? Get over yourself.

not a snob, just calling it like I see it. You seem to think your something special and your insight matters because your husband owns a business. It doesn’t. Neither does his.

He was a criminal doing his criminal stuff when he was caught..he was also resisting at some point...or at least that‘s what was implied. I don’t know if we will ever really know the truth about it. However, we do know that blm used that as an excuse to start all this rioting that has nothing to do with blm or what it stood for..which is black lives..but is trying to use racism in an effort to overthrow the gov as it is now.

Snot..an educated snob..you’re like what the left portrays..those without a college education are nothing.
I think the experience I have does matter...its more insightful then yours.
