I’m loving this book on the benefits of magnesium right now.

It’s called. Magnesium: reversing disease by dr. Levy.

I dropped the gatorade and powerade from my diet.
I hydrate with water or bcaa’s or eaa’s

Add resistance bands to compound lifts every so often. I go a bit lighter than usual when using resistanc bands. Creates tension at the top of lifts to break past sticking points and it promotes connective tissue health

This is how I stay healthy

I don't recommend taking magnesium from non-dietary sources unless you are in need, as they are chemicals/unnatural. Take it from food.

@Maes17
If you want pure strength gains, go for heavy chains. Bands are mainly for balance.

I use the bands mostly for balance and tension at the top. I consider it a more stable tsunami bar. I prefer bands on bench and chains on squat. With deadlifts I’ll only tweak the lifts off a box or something or do rack pulls.

I do love chains when I’m doing box squats with a safety squat bar.

It's surely not rocket science, just don't poison your body with booze and smoking, and don't kill your braincells with drugs, I've never touched any of all that myself.
As for food, I've simply eaten anything and everything that my stomach tells me it wants (including meat and so-called "junk food") and at age 72 I'm as fit and healthy as I ever was, in fact I've just shrugged off a mild attack of Covid-19, g
erms and viruses should know better than to try to mess with us of the Rock Legend generation..:)

PS- My hard-drinking hard-smoklng brother-in-law used to half-jokingly say to me- "Huh, you're not a man if you don't drink and smoke!"
He died of cancer a few years ago in his mid-60's but I'm still around..

why? i think most people are deficient.
As I said, they are products usually containing different chemicals and I think taking something in excess without the other nutrients, shocks the body. And did you know that minerals compete with each other for absorption? So you end up messing up your system.

Regarding the magnesium deficiency, I think it is because people are more stressed today, at least it is one of the reasons. Deficiency can easily be solved by eating the right foods and/or solving the root problem.

As I remember, I've tried magnesium citrate and it did nothing good for me. But if you feel great, take them.

i think its less about what you eat, tidal, and more about your sunny, positive outlook on life thats allowing you to thrive.

Having a clear mind.
Learning patience and not making quick judgements.

The less mental stress, the better you can go about physically, mentally and spiritually. In that, find your personal virtue. It takes a bit of soul searching, but if you are passionate about something there is nothing to worry about

Yes, if anybody's got a gloomy doomy outlook on life without any spiritual depth they're bound to feel knackered and run down because they're like wagons without springs, jolted by every pebble on the road.
I like the christian outlook myself, namely that our brief lives on earth are like a cabaret and shouldn't be taken seriously.
Fearless goodnatured Grylls (a christian) sums it up nicely..:)

"We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal" (2 Cor 4:18)

Food too plays a big part in health.. ;)

Find what foods work for you. Every one responds different. I eat what many consider a “bad” diet. I rarely get sick. I try not to stress too much as well. With the baby coming up I had nervous breakdown a couple weeks ago. I’m a little better now and getting some confidence back

My approach has always been to eat what my stomach tells me it wants, no matter what it is.
For example right now I'm getting a craving for a jam sandwich..:)

That is a good approach. Although I mentioned that I'm following the carnivore diet, sometimes I do crave for some tasty food and eat small amount of honey. Following a diet seems to always end up with some failure.

it would be reasonable to listen to ones body after one kicks the sugar addiction.
craving jam (sugar) on bread (white sugar) tells me you havent done that.

Let the man eat fer christ sakes. You damn food nazi. I’m gonna go feast on the most artificially processed junk I can think of in your honor.

Will the cancer be worth it? Hard to say. My health is fine right now.
