A block button

Do you think this site needs a block button?
Edit: there is already an ignore button but the people you put on ignore can still see your content and interact with it. (They know that you won't see it but people still choose to post no matter what, that's pretty much the equivalent of speaking to yourself. But go figure). A block button would mean, they can't interact with your posts.
And it would probbaly derail less threads, since some people go into endless/irrelevant back-and-forth in pretty much every thread...

Let me know what y'all think, not everyone will agree I know.

Why would it need another?

Of course, as you have already used that function and put me on ignore, you won't read this useful and relevant comment.

If you put everyone on ignore, you can talk to yourself and there will be very little disagreement.

My problem with the ignore button is it doesn't prevent people I already put on ignore to interact with my posts. That's the problem I have with it.

Just that you want a block button and, if your hag comment is anything to go by, you'd be the last person to need that button as everyone would already have you blocked. Well maybe apart from me.

But to answer your original Q. No. I think everyone has a point of view and regardless of how much nonsense they might or might not talk they'll eventually say something that's worth listening to...and i'd hate to miss it...

I don't mind people spewing nonsense as I don't expect everyone to be enlightened but I think it could prevent threads from getting derailed. Like this one for exemple...

I pointed out that there was already an ignore function.

But apparently you expect people who you don't like (me for instance) to choose to restrict their access to this forum, to convenience you.

It is not my job to ignore you.
If you do not like what I say, ignore me.

Your idea of a block button seems to be intended to make a safe space for you, and shut out the people you do not like

I don't hate anyone here as I don't know anyone personally and frankly I don't care enough to hate you. But if you hate me, you can ignore me.

I agree with you. Many on here are bothersome and only in here bc they wanna fight and new ones come eevryday so that function would be great but VC seems to have abandoned the place so.. fat chance.
