I have a bad feeling China is going to crack down on Hong Kong in the near future. They are really pushing out some serious propaganda on social media outlets and in Europe now that they're shipping supplies and playing the savior. The only hope here to keep them from taking over is a revolt in their own country which is unlikely due to the iron fist rule. It is so crazy to think that we have been in modern warfare the past decade as the power structures are destined to change within the next ten years. The fallout and blame game will start once this crisis subsides and I am not looking forward to that and politics dominating the news but will take it considering what we're currently speaking about.

I'm sceptical.A country with China's population and only 2000 dead? 40 incinerator trucks in Wuhan? There are pics of the trucks.

It’s not, actually. You kind of make it sound like people are “saying” China is lying, but you’re not convinced.
Ofcourse China is lying and they are doing so for whatever reason. I rolled my eyes in irony because the same distrust leveled at China isn't so liberally applied to the Western press here. It is as though we are still expecting said press to present accurate figures and that there is no temptation from the authorities to play around with the figures before they are even released to the public. It shows that we still maintain a degree of trust in the press even when we shouldn't because subconsciously we still believe that its better than the Chinese news establishment.
This is excellent information - thanks! I'll copy and paste it, provided the links will work in the future, hopefully. In the last point, there's a Telegraph article that makes a poignant statement:

"But Prof Ricciardi added that Italy’s death rate may also appear high because of how doctors record fatalities."

The article goes on to describe that many victims of the virus were older and had underlying health issues.
Maybe printing them out and having "hard" copy somewhere that can still be scanned and uploaded when the need arises? I've lost valuable information before when i had links saved but the websites later became defunct or the articles simply disappeared off the websites. For example, if you go to any wikipedia page, at the bottom there are links as sources but following on, one often finds that the page no longer exists. I think that information like what you've saved is going to be harder to find in the near future. It took me multiple search engines, including 6 pages of Google (thats where i stopped) just to find the BBC article that i posted here.

It sure as hell should be. Most of the Western media are reporting China’s numbers as is, without any skepticism or caveats.

It is as though we are still expecting said press to present accurate figures and that there is no temptation from the authorities to play around with the figures before they are even released to the public.
The numbers that the Western authorities are releasing are at least believable. Not so with China’s figures. They don’t match up to any other model of infections or deaths, but the media just blandly repeats them, while spending all their energy bitching about how mean Trump is being to them.

Shakespeare had it wrong. Kill the journalists first, then the lawyers.

Why do I need to see video of bodies carted off when I have never said people aren't dying or claimed this isn't a serious crisis? How many others here are denying the deaths and seriousness of the situation?

People dying doesn't negate the valid questions being asked in this forum. Do you understand that people can do more than one thing at a time, like grasp a pandemic AND ask questions when things surrounding the pandemic don't add up? Yes? No?

Hippa had nothing to do with CBS substituting Italian hospital footage for NY hospital footage. Hippa had nothing to do with the Elmhurst hospital claiming to be short on ventilators, meanwhile thousands of ventilators are in storage in NYC, and the head of NYC hospitals denies there was ever a shortage. Fact is the MSM is doing their best to fear monger and lie their way through the crisis - and some people are not taking it anymore.

By the way, calling Lisa a 'c#@t' [post 2,812] was really disgusting on your part. I don't care how much you dislike or disagree with someone, that was completely uncalled for. If you cannot discuss like a civilized reasonable adult, then expect to treated like a child in the future.
Or you can alternatively ignore me. As I will be you going forward. If you can support her provocations of me prior to me calling her a cunt yet call me out for responding how I did there is no point in conversing with you at all.

You are not allowed to takevideo or picture inside nyc hospitals on a regular day - this is due to both hippa and nyc hospital policy. They absolutely should not have used fake footage. That is entirely wrong. Them using fake footage does not mean that nyc is not actually in crisis.

This article makes it easy to see what the situation is like in the US right now. There is an interactive map and you can hover over it to find out how many cases are present in that location.

Overall, the numbers are low in the US right now with a few places like New York that are being hit bad. This makes sense because I can already tell it is real from where I am, but the numbers are still very low.

I think it is easy to exaggerate on either side of the spectrum. You could exaggerate that this situation isn't that big of a deal because the numbers are still low where you are.

The problem is that even though the numbers are low, so far they are showing almost a fifty/fifty chance of death versus recovery. This is still early on and this number will be updated as we progress. Hopefully, we will have a lot more people recovering the way it says China has had.

Personally, I wasn't taking this so seriously when we were just getting numbers out of China, but I just don't see a whole lot of reason to question the numbers from New York or Italy.

I also think the footage that CBS used that was originally posted by SkyNews is being exaggerated. I watched the clip by CBS and they basically seem to be using it as a stock photo of what it would look like to take care of patients with coronavirus.

There is nothing in the report that starts narrating something along the lines of "this is a hospital in New York that is trying to take care of patients in their emergency room because there are no beds in their hospital."

That is the gist of what SkyNews was saying during the same footage in their report, but CBS sweeps with this picture never claiming that it is a New York hospital. The statement on the bottom stays static while they show the clip of Cuomo talking about how the ventilators are not going to be enough. There is no direct claim that is ever made that this is a hospital in New York.

It genuinely looks like they were trying to use the clip as a stock video clip of what a coronavirus hospital looks like. This could have been with the intention of initiating a more emotional response to the information, but it doesn't look like they were claiming that this was a New York hospital and they have since apologized for including this and removed it.

So I'm not really a fan of emotionally charged reporting, I still think the accusations for including this are somewhat exaggerated. It is very important to try to be calm and rational right now. Even if you see injustice, or an error in reporting, it is still important to stay calm and rational, and not start exaggerating about the error or injustice that you are seeing.

I didn't think the virus would be so lethal. But in my defense, the information I was given was terrible.

I suppose it's my fault for trusting modern medicine and corporate machinations. Now, maybe all the chaos and horror stories are exaggerated for political or personal clout. Either way, corona chaos is real in people's minds. That fact has obvious implications for the beneficiaries of such chaos.

"Order through chaos" is a simple idea, but we see that it doesn't play out so simply. Like the order exists somewhere, and obfuscation is actually the whole point. The true slogan of the freemasons should probably change to "Order hidden through chaos". More importantly, I don't see shell shocking everyone as a viable long term strategy.

Shell shocking is why I think we have lost the end game. And people are worried about A.I? LOL, please, we don't need a machine to run us over on its own. We will drive the machines ourselves.
