I’m assuming there won’t be due to eliminating the Fairness Doctrine. I found this comment on a YT video and appears to be true:They have absolutely zero shame - they are disgusting. There should be consequences, right?
Broadcast News Distortion
Broadcasters may not intentionally distort the news. The FCC states that "rigging or slanting the news is a most heinous act against the public interest."www.fcc.gov
Broadcasting false content during news programming
The FCC is prohibited by law from engaging in censorship or infringing on First Amendment rights of the press. It is, however, illegal for broadcasters to intentionally distort the news, and the FCC may act on complaints if there is documented evidence of such behavior from persons with direct personal knowledge. For more information, please see our consumer guide, Complaints About Broadcast Journalism.
Los Angeles, ma'am!Where do you live?
American adults who make less than 75,000/year will receive $1200 each. For families that qualify under those same guidelines they will receive an extra $500 per child.Los Angeles, ma'am!
The thing with the money- I heard on the news about a day or two ago.
It may seem overprotective, but based on the output of videos by doctors and other medical professionals, it's probably better to err on the side of caution than not. It can be lifted if/when things improve.June 10th???
Oh I agree with it.. I’m just shocked they actually said it while everyone else seems to be doing this incrementally to prevent mass panic or somethingIt may seem overprotective, but based on the output of videos by doctors and other medical professionals, it's probably better to err on the side of caution than not. It can be lifted if/when things improve.
As much as people question what's coming out of China regarding this virus, they should more so question what's in American media....given what you just posted. Iam still going through some old posts of this thread but i think this is the only time, since the thread was started, that someone has brought up the Smith-Mundt Act.I’m assuming there won’t be due to eliminating the Fairness Doctrine. I found this comment on a YT video and appears to be true:
“Most don't realize that in the U.S., the media is under NO legal obligation to report the coronavirus or anything else in a fair, accurate, or balanced manner since the Federal Communications Commission eliminated the Fairness Doctrine in 1987. The Smith-Mundt Act that prohibited the U.S. Government from using propaganda against its own people was also eliminated in the early 2000's. Question Everything. Fear is the real contagion.”
To find out more about the Fairness Doctrine and the removal of it, there’s info on Wikipedia as I searched on the FCC website and found none in their search engine:

Yes, you're right. I've taken a look through the posts and no one's mentioned it.As much as people question what's coming out of China regarding this virus, they should more so question what's in American media....given what you just posted. .....Because its China that is eye-ball deep in propaganda and manipulating numbers ....atleast thats what's being repeated here, over and over.Yes, you're right. I've taken a look through the posts and no one's mentioned it.
Hey I've had a look at this topic before elsewhere, a lot would have been censored by now but it was this thread that inspired me to expose predictive programming and disaster thespians. Your welcome to have a nose to see if there is anything interesting there.Yes, you're right. I've taken a look through the posts and no one's mentioned it.
What's interesting while watching this I remember being at a Real News Network news seminar a few years after September 11th. One journalist that was on the panel made the statement that war is in essence, a war over natural resources and either Russia or China will be the next superpower. I remember him smiling, shaking his finger back and forth, "...and when they're in power, they're not going to be as nice as the US". At the time, I was wanting to know about more about the Bush Administration's ineptitude behind the 9/11 investigation, but the comment always stayed in the back of my head.History has an uncanny way of repeating itself.
The most fascinating aspect of this film is that it was made over 3 years ago, long before our current virus problems.
At the 4 minute mark the film exmines the trade links made between China and Europe, with Italy being a key player in this relationship and how the plague affected both countries.
It looks like those two countries are suffering the same fate today......for exactly the same reasons
Do you trust what China is saying?.....Because its China that is eye-ball deep in propaganda and manipulating numbers ....atleast thats what's being repeated here, over and over.
If you answer no, a conversion camp awaits.Do you trust what China is saying?
Right now they are starting to fine people who go out here in Montreal, and the media says that the army could be used for a period that could last up to a year. This shit has got to stop.
Have you read this article? Dalit posted it a couple pages back. Apparently, this situation is to be kept up in waves, kinda like flipping a switch several times....on/off....on/off....We will get back to normal. We’d get there a whole hell of a lot faster if we actually shut down for a couple weeks instead of trying to pussy foot around it.
I skimmed it. I also read the imperial report it’s based on. Neither preclude the option of an absolute shut down for a certain amount of time combined with extensive testing being a potential path forward. It’s just no ones going to do that. They want this madness prolonged for whatever reason. When i saw this, the only thing that came to mind was....Scientific Dictatorship.
A term coined by Huxley. Yes, the scientific dictatorship has been around a long time but now seems like its time for their coronation and for us to pay it homage. If we can listen to scientists, so says Neil deGrasse? And if we don't, then what? Is dissent going to be tolerated (penalize antivaxx, for one)?
But no human problem can be solved by wholesale methods alone. The shotgun has its place, but so has the hypodermic syringe.
Inquisitors of earlier times did remarkably well. But their successors, the well-informed, thoroughly scientific dictators of the future will undoubtedly be able to do a great deal better.
Under a scientific dictator education will really work — with the result that most men and women will grow up to love their servitude and will never dream of revolution. There seems to be no good reason why a thoroughly scientific dictatorship should ever be overthrown.
Brave New World Revisited.

We’re not going back to normal
Social distancing is here to stay for much more than a few weeks. It will upend our way of life, in some ways forever.www.technologyreview.com
"As usual, however, the true cost will be borne by the poorest and weakest. People with less access to health care, or who live in more disease-prone areas, will now also be more frequently shut out of places and opportunities open to everyone else. Gig workers—from drivers to plumbers to freelance yoga instructors—will see their jobs become even more precarious. Immigrants, refugees, the undocumented, and ex-convicts will face yet another obstacle to gaining a foothold in society. "
The answer to that should be obvious from my posts.Do you trust what China is saying?
