Good call, there are lots of carriers out there..

Yeah, and I'm young so my body can fight it off efficiently, but it won't be so efficient if I'm already weak from doing too much while my body wants to recover.

I'm also sober, and started sobriety right before the outbreak, and I think that's another reason why it's easy to not worry too much.

The way I see it is, every time I drank consistently around flu season, my cold sores would flare up because my body couldn't hold off the herpes infection when I poisoned it with alcohol, and was exposed to the common cold.

I think the simple act of not drinking is benefitting my immune system tremendously at the moment, and I would recommend a brief sobriety period to everyone until the panic dies down.

It's not easy to stay sober, and I'm not one to encourage others to do it just because I am, but it's eased my worries so much this month and the peace of mind is worth it.

Trumps not worried...

Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on': Trump claims the oil price war behind markets crash is 'GOOD for the consumer' because gas prices are coming down and blames fake coronavirus news for historic drop

Good call mate, I've never drank, drugged or smoked for all my 71 years, so no virus dare mess with me..

PS- my Hell's Angel brother-in-law used to say half-jokingly to me- "Huh, you're not a man if you don't drink and smoke".
He died of cancer a few years ago in his mid-60's but I'm still around..:D

Is it my imagination, or is he a bit... not right in the head about this stuff?

No offence to anyone's president, but from where I'm sitting he seems to be singing from a totally different hymn sheet to the rest of the world.

He seems to always be singing from that totally different hymn sheet all the time...but I figure he ought to know something we don’t.

The average age of those dying from this is 80+. This is worse than the flu, but probably not a whole lot. I think the panic/financial aftermath will be what’s going to affect most people.
the financial aspect worries me the most..

But I’m checking stock prices every day, when I feel they’ve bottomed out I’m going to try to use it to my advantage. I miscalculated during the housing meltdown so TRY is the operative word here.

I'm a member of a Survival forum mate and here's a tip- GET YOUR CASH OUT OF THE BANK RIGHT NOW, just to be on the safe side, because if ever our governments declare a State of Emergency / Lockdown for whatever reason, they'll probably close all banks to stop panic-withdrawals, and people will find the banks doors shut in their faces like what happened in the Wall St crash (below)-

PS- I always keep most of my cash in a shoebox at home anyway, rather than leave it in the bank at the mercy of the government and scammers etc..

Yeah I bought a fingerprint controlled safe the other day.. didn’t put all or even most of my money in it, but enough. Just to be safe.

Here in France, they passed down laws that forbids you to cash out more than 500€ per week. It depends on your credit card but most of the time you have restrictions here and you need to fill a paper and follow a long process when you want more than 1000€ per month.
In case of economic crisis, banks have a legal right to steal your money as there is a law or something that stipulate how banks do not guarantee nor could be forced to give your money back unless you've bought expensive and scammy insurances.

I know I can't protect all my money and just like you, I save a bit of my money in a secret briefcase. Sometimes I think about buying some gold though I'm hesitant with the idea.

So, in the post apocalyptic whatever, you would accept gold for goods?

How would you know it was real?

And it's worth remembering that if the shelves run empty, all the cash and gold in the world won't stop us from starving-
