Is Elsagate on YT still an issue?

Look what has just popped up on my YT feed.

All my Google account privacy settings are quite strict. Also, I have turned off ads personalizing, so it's not triggered by anything I recently watched (frankly speaking, I didn't spend much time on YT last two weeks).

*sigh* I thought this crap was already over.

I don't think it's as bad as it used to be, but as long as the YouTube algorithm exists they'll be content mills designed to try and game it.

Do yall think the activity is falling off or that they are learning how to make it more effective towards their goals?

I don't think most of the Elsagate stuff had any goal but to make money, by sketchy Indian or Eastern European countries. Something is learning... Google's AI algorithm and that should trouble people more. It will learn what to feed you to keep you in front of your computer and off the streets.

I could not agree more. Yet, loads of this "Elsagate" stuff, be it AI-generated or recorded IRL is quite disturbing and that is a problem - especially when it's only a few clicks away from the clip you're currently watching. If it was only obscure stuff that you'd have to look for - not THAT big deal. If it's directly aimed to be played by kids (and Kids tend to click 'next' over and over again, from what I observed) - then it's really wrong.
What I suspect is that Google doesn't give a flying f**k about things being served at their portal, moreover they try to cover everything up (as they're getting money from ads)

I agree regarding the intentional algorithm forwarding of inappropriate videos by YT, but I think the "studios' and "producers" behind the EG crap know exactly what they are doing. If they make money, bonus..... but the primary goal is obviously to maintain a phenomenon which exposes children to VERY damaging images and materials. Images and materials that would be difficult for them to stumble upon by themselves.... but YT is only too happy to intentionally promote en masse.

I wonder why spiderman keeps appearing so much. I had a run on tik tok and 1 out of 10 people was using a spiderman uniform just for the sake of it.
