Oh please, no one is worked up about what you have said. I thought you were here to 'talk'? We are discussing our opinions and ideas but it seems you are hellbent on posting inflammatory and provocative comments then hiding behind 'God' or playing victim when called up on your BS.

You are entitled to your views...I know for a fact you wouldn't dare utter half the crap you spew in real life so please, go ahead and post on this forum. It is such a shame at your ripe age you harbour hate, anger and venom.

The reason I joined this discussion is because you were very hypocritical in your stance of working mothers as you have been one yourself! No one likes a hypocrite !
You must be worked up thinking I’m hypocritical..

What’s inflammatory in what I said? I can have that opinion just like you can have any opinion you have. And it doesn’t mean that I’m hateful, angry or venomous about what I’ve said...I think to think that it must bug you to hear what God says is right for us. He did after all make women with the necessary body parts to carry and bear babies...why then wouldn’t I think then that one of our roles on earth is to have children? He made us protective of those children and nurturing for a reason. I also think that when He created women so that man would have a helper and wouldn’t be alone also has meaning as does man will leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. God want’s us all to be a family unit. I think that the family unit works better when mom is the anchor staying home and nurturing her children. The children are better off and so is the husband. The selflessness of the mother is its own strength.

But, because of feminism people now don’t believe any of that, but believe that its good for women to be selfish and want her own while discounting that it wasn’t for nothing she has her family to take care of. I realize that I have old fashioned ideas but I also think they are worth saying.

I'm just making a random comment in regard to the notion that women do a disservice to their families by working outside the home. My mother worked outside the home most of my life and it was because of this that I was able to have an experience that contrasted the abuse I experienced in childhood. My mother working made a way for me to see a different way to live. So, while there can be extremes where mothers end up working outside the home and neglecting their children, there should always be a choice, and the choice to work should always be a woman's. It is not something that someone else should get to decide.

On a personal note, I have always loved having a job. I still remember thinking after I got my first job, "this is better than going to school." I still like working better than I like doing most things, and I can't imagine someone telling me that I shouldn't be able to work because I am a woman.

What if your work was staying at home and having a family? Or as a Christian, if that’s God’s will for you?

I actually love that some women like to stay at home and take care of their families. Without them, my kids would eat turkey sandwiches or spaghetti every night for dinner because I am not very good at making new recipes. A lot of stay at home mom's make blogs where they share recipes instead of watching soap operas during the day now. I survive on a lot of the tips and tricks that stay at home moms provide because I just don't think like a homemaker.

So it is not about what if they want to stay at home. It is about women having a choice to stay home or work if they want without having one way or the other chosen for them.

If its God’s will that you stay home, would that make a difference do you think?

God's will as a general rule? I'm interested in hearing how you prove that it is God's will for a woman to be a stay at home mom.

God’s will as in you pray to God and you think He is wanting you to stay home and raise your children...would you then quit the job you love and stay home and raise your kids?

I think God made man and woman. The woman who has all the body parts she needs to care for the baby only she can carry and give birth to. She also has the food for the baby which to me says she stays home and cares for it. Nurturing it protecting it. And I do think that’s God’s ideal, I really do.

I also think it’s a worldly issue that says women don’t have to stay home with their babies because they should be all that they should be so the baby if it’s not first killed off in the womb goes at a young age to be raised by strangers. I gotta say I don’t think this is God’s will for anyone’s life.

But one could see the devil decreeing this and getting his way since he is the ruler of this world and he hates God and all God called good. Over time we have seen people were raising their own families and men and women staying in their own domain until women were fooled into thinking that what God decreed as good really isn’t.

I do think that has caused irreparable harm to families. The women have edged out men in their role as providers and that is making it harder for the men to provide for their families which in turn caused a problem for women to be able to stay at home...which in turn made it harder in the kids because kids want to stay home with their moms and I think are much happier when they do.

Then the devil attacks families by lying to the woman that she really can do it on her own and she doesn’t need the man...and she’s got his job..so she agrees. Someone else raises the kid she gets child support and it works out..right?

That’s then not good enough for the woman and she says I need to be in control of my body. If I don’t even want a kid I should be able to choose to kill it but we will call it abortion so it doesn’t sound so mean and call them cells so it doesn’t seem so gruesome and people cheer and get their kids all excited over this great thing women are able to do...what a warped world we live in. Then we wonder why the love of many has grown so cold...

Yes I would. However, it seems like what you are trying to say is that women should pray for God's will and give up their jobs when he responds by confirming that this is what they should do. Basically, you are suggesting that women are not praying for God's will and this evidenced by the fact that they are working outside the home. I realize this is taking a leap, but I am making this leap with other comments you have made already about how God doesn't want women to work and that woman working outside the home is somehow disrupting his divine call for them.

So I will go a little further and say that I think you are overcomplicating what the Bible says about the role of women a whole lot. Basically, all you have to do is look at where their role was rooted in the book of Genesis.

"To the woman he said,
“I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing;
in pain you shall bring forth children.
Your desire shall be contrary to your husband,
but he shall rule over you.

So you are basically saying that the curse is something we should revere as God's divine will for our lives by saying that we should stay at home and be ruled by our husbands.

However, every verse in the New Testament that talks about being set free from the judgment in the garden is the same as saying that women are no longer under this command.

“For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22)

So if in Christ, we are made alive. In Christ, I have the freedom to work outside my home because having my husband rule over me was never God's will for women. It was the result of the curse.

Outside of this, we have James 4:17 that says, "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin."

So if I knew that it was God's will for me to stay at home despite the fact that I was not obligated to do this simply because I am a woman, then I would be in sin because of this. It is really very simple.

Outside of feeling like God is calling me to stay at home, there is no reason why I can't work.

"All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful" 1 Corinthians 6:12.

I'm sure you are familiar with this verse and the chapters that follow, which include the different situations where this concept applies. There is the freedom to do all things, but this is to be considered cautiously so that a weaker brother or sister is not offended. There is freedom for a woman to work, but this should be considered cautiously so that it remains a freedom rather than returning to something similar to a curse that was originally imposed on Eve.

There is no reason to continue using scripture to manipulate this subject beyond this unless there is fear of moving past elementary things.

"Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so." Hebrews 6:1-3.

It is possible to consider things like this excessively, and when this happens, oppression is the result.

If you want to know the truth of the issue...pray for God’s will in your life. The fact is not many people think to pray for God’s will in their life..they think they can make the call and then pray to Him when it all goes wrong. I felt led to stay home with my children and didn’t want them in daycare. People can argue that I was already predisposed to this..but even at that time..I didn’t really know how I would be able to do that but God provided for us that I could.

I don’t think that salvation released us from the curse. Did man’s curse of the ground go away? Does man still toil away at his job? We are all still under the curse on this earth.
And I think its a lie for women to believe that its more important to work outside the home than to be in the home and taking care of their children and nurturing their family. I think the woman left her selflessness behind and took on selfishness and I think that has ruined families.‭‭

Actually I do think that the curse given to man has been significantly alleviated by technologies. This is also what I mean by thinking about things excessively. You have clearly invented a new version of the truth by saying that women believe it is more important to work outside the home. It is also pointless to show you examples of why this is something you have imagined out of thin air. So I will be brief and say that I would be willing to bet money that you will not be able to find one source that supports this statement.

Then what the hell was your role at that point? Why did you still need to be home? What exactly did you do?

Your kids were “sent out to be raised by strangers” so why didn’t you get a job?

Most people with your views are at least consistent and homeschool their kids.
I felt it was more important to go to school and learn with other kids their age and all that entails.

Did I have to get a job? Why couldn’t I stay home?

Most people who place emphasis on “not sending their kids to be raised by strangers” and a woman’s place “is home raising her kids” - do not send there kids to formal schooling. And yeah, sure you can stay home.. but I’d hope god wanted more for your life then one of leisure doing nothing purposeful after the 5 years it takes to raise a kid before they start school

Sure they do.

I don’t remember saying I had a life of leisure because I stayed home.

Google women with similar views Lisa. They do. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

Well I asked you what exactly you did and you gave no response. You weren’t raising kids, weren’t working... so what were you doing? Considering that you aren’t raising kids and aren’t working NOW I can only imagine that what you were doing then is very similar to what you are doing now... pretty much nothing.
