So are you saying that there were gender roles? Perhaps like women having the role of marriage and motherhood, which shouldn’t be looked down upon now..but celebrated.
Getting back to the op..it’s sad when women think that they should be like men because it hasn’t helped bring gender equality like they thought it would. It has only helped women to go outside their role, invade a man’s world and made it harder on families. So when a women takes on a man’s role...and think she can do it better, how could she not look down her nose at him? Instead of building up her man, she thinks she’s above him... wants him to take on her role..that of helper and mother that she’s been taught to disparage and so why not disparage the man then too?
