You brought it up, not me. You must not be trying very hard if you haven't even conducted a poll yet......
Lol, I brought up China’s polluting. I assumed everyone’s seen pictures as have I of their air pollution problem that they don’t seem to care enough to control, I mean I have to do my car emission tests...
So, I wonder if part of the planet doesn’t care about the pollution, how as a whole can this really be solved until we get them on board?

Have you ever been to China?

....I'm 60, and I would say that for pretty much my entire life, I've been of the belief that 'plastic never breaks down'..... because that's all I've ever heard about the matter....
....here's something which may cast some doubt on that conviction.... and it's from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and M.I.T......

Plastics: Science is Winning

Guest Essay by Kip Hansen — 18 October 2019

Science is beginning to win in the long battle over misinformed anti-plastic advocacy. It has been a long time coming. The most recent paper on the subject of pelagic plastic (plastic floating in the oceans) is from a scientific team at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution on Cape Cod, Mass., and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The study is “Sunlight Converts Polystyrene to Carbon Dioxide and Dissolved Organic Carbon” by Collin P. Ward, Cassia J. Armstrong, Anna N. Walsh, Julia H. Jackson and Christopher M. Reddy. It is good basic science.

We are all familiar with polystyrene— it is prevalent in modern packaging, both as a solid, such as yoghurt cups, or in expanded form used for disposable foam drink cups. Much of the plastic flotsam found on the worlds beaches and floating in rivers is this ubiquitous plastic, particularly the expanded foam.
The new abstract of the new study starts with this:

“ABSTRACT: Numerous international governmental agencies that steer policy assume that polystyrene persists in the environment for millennia. Here, we show that polystyrene is completely photochemically oxidized to carbon dioxide and partially photochemically oxidized to dissolved organic carbon. Lifetimes of complete and partial photochemical oxidation are estimated to occur on centennial and decadal time scales, respectively. These lifetimes are orders of magnitude faster than biological respiration of polystyrene and thus challenge the prevailing assumption that polystyrene persists in the environment for millennia.” [ bolding mine — kh ]

It is about time that someone scientifically challenged the activist position held and promulgated by many environmental, anti-plastics and anti-corporate groups that “Plastic is Forever”.

Plastic is not forever. Glass, both natural and man-made, is forever, but not plastic.

Author’s Comment:

Our societies are under constant attack by mis-and ill-informed activists fighting shadows and imagined boogeymen instead of trying to make the world a better place for those truly in need. Those spending their time, money and effort in the battle to ban plastic straws, for instance, appear ridiculous to those of us who have spent years helping some of the almost one billion people living in profound poverty, many lacking simple necessities like sources of clean drinking water, efficient safe cooking stoves or access to minimal basic health care.

Plastics are miraculous modern materials which have made so many things possible in our modern societies. You will not find many (maybe not even one) anti-plastic activists without a modern cell phone or living in a plastic-free home — it is probably close to impossible today.

Unnecessary waste, particularly of excess packaging materials, is a problem, at least in the United States, where almost everything sold is wrapped in too many layers of packaging material which needs to be disposed of. Yes, much of that waste is plastic which should be, but is not, recycled.

Do you discuss the topic with actual Chinese people?
Should I? I’d have to learn Chinese first, unless I find someone who know english. Maybe I’d have better luck asking someone who lives in Hong Kong?

The term "Climate Change" is a political term. It is so vague and ambiguous that it practically means everything and nothing. The satanic cabal via controlled MSM use this term to blame every weather anomaly on climate change. It is the boogie man. Like I have said before, it is a fear based agenda. It is not about the environment but about making man the enemy. A complete overhaul of society. Controlling and micro managing the herd to bring forth UN 2030 Agenda aka NWO.

Remember the very wealthy financial and banking interests/bloodlines that control the world today, control the green movement. The socialist/communist mind set that is being promoted and embraced by today's youth is nothing more that monopoly capitalism. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss - except now you are a slave.

With that said, I believe there are natural cycles that effect climate. With various government/military agencies using Geo-engineering, H.A.A.R.P., Directed Energy Weapons and whatever else they have been using to affect climate, weather, the jet stream, man made disasters (steering hurricanes, creating earthquakes, forest fires...) Its really hard to tell whats real or man made.

"The common enemy of humanity is man.
In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up
with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming,
water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these
dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through
changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome.
The real enemy then, is humanity itself

"A keen and anxious awareness is evolving to suggest that
fundamental changes will have to take place in the world order
and its power structures, in the distribution of wealth and income.
Perhaps only a new and enlightened humanism
can permit mankind to negotiate this transition.

"Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound
reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world
has ever experienced a major shift in the priorities of both
governments and individuals and an unprecedented
redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift
will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences
of every human action be integrated into individual and
collective decision-making at every level.

I agree, they can’t control the climate so they took a term that could mean anything and everything for when they need to fear monger for control.

University Fires Professor Who Proved Polar Bears are NOT Being Killed Off by Global Warming
WARNER TODD HUSTON OCTOBER 21, 2019

Susan Crockford, the zoologist who proved that polar bears were not dying out because of climate change, has been dumped by her university.

For years climate change religionists claimed that the polar bear population in the arctic was dying out because of global warming. But one zoologist proved that the bear population was not diminishing at all and the left’s claim of bear destruction was false. Now her university is dumping her for daring to report the truth.

After 15 years as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Victoria, Crockford’s application for renewing her contract has been rejected without comment by the university.

Crockford has been a leading researcher in the history of dog domestication and scientific research into polar bears and has been an in-demand speaker on her expertise.

But, Crockford says that the university bowed to pressure from global warming religionists because she proved that polar bears are not dying out because of climate change.

The school has refused to say why it has fired her.

Per the Washington Times:
Ms. Crockford accused officials at the Canadian university of bowing to “outside pressure,” the result of her research showing that polar bear populations are stable and even thriving, not plummeting as a result of shrinking Arctic sea ice, defying claims of the climate change movement.
Her dismissal, which she announced Wednesday in a post on her Polar Bear Science blog, has spurred alarm over the implications for academic freedom and the rise of the “cancel culture” for professors and scientists who challenge climate catastrophe predictions.
“When push came to shove, UVic threw me under the bus rather than stand up for my academic freedom,” said Ms. Crockford, who earned a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary studies, specifically biology and anthropology, in 2004.
Crockford notes that her work at the university was celebrated by the school right up until the time she proved that the polar bear population has not diminished despite clams by leftist climate change gurus that the bears are failing because of global warming.

In 2017 the school stopped supporting her when the University of Victoria Speakers Bureau complained that she was not supportive enough of the left’s religious globaloney tenets.

Crockford says that the speaker’s bureau complaints, “poisoned support I might have expected from colleagues in the department.”

“The speakers’ bureau incident made it clear the administration had no intention of protecting my academic freedom against complaints from outside the university,” Crockford said.

They are all cowards. It's that group think mentality.
It doesn't matter what is right, it only matters what they are told to believe is right. 1+1=3? Yes 3 cause I said so. That kind of garbage.

I believe that if water levels rise the effects would be catastrophic. Millions will be displaced across the globe, causing stress to our already pathetic emergency infrastructures. So it's critical that we find out if we can prevent that from happening.

Do you want your front yard to turn into a FEMA camp? I rest my case.
