So.. The live chat thing. Wtf. Why wasn't she "live"? She just kept repeating questions & answering almost on a track. She purposefully didn't answer a call. One caller said he thought she was a "soundboard". Charlotte called in & Poppy hung up. What was this about?

It was not on the video. Those were faked calls. More, later.

Los Angeles-based dance pop project created by visual performance artist Titanic Sinclair. That Poppy is primarily known for its singer Poppy's surreal and off-putting YouTube videos, which paint a narrative of a potential android or mind control victim interacting with her fanbase.

No it was not live, just a part of their marketing. Sadly, she is now in cahoots with people that work with Demi Lovato per sources close to the situation. They are totally grooming her slowly for a more concerted launch. This includes trying to erase her past music and create a persona. What started as a joke may now be serious in that it is working. I cannot tell you whether she is going all in illuminati or if it is a ploy at this point but there are signs that they are doing things in plain site which is what they do. Meaning, they want you to think it is a game when it is real. I was told to listen carefully to the lyrics in her new songs by someone who writes for a site. It actually tells her story of more or less leaving home and her searching for success only to supposedly find it now. As for the convo, it was real and it was two minutes but seemed like four. She will on occasion pick up or type responses on her site per source while at other times it is automated. Actually, most of the time unless they want their giggles. Trust me, it is all very well planned out and it might be a ride to see where this goes. I am not like totally into her music, but find the subject of someone breaking into the industry strangely interesting and I have a little bit of investigation experience in my past. Anyhow, the convo was odd, yet cool and nothing like what you saw on the vid and she remained in character. She knew where I was calling from and said she like that state and mentioned the state bird of all things. A photographer friend shot her for the IHEARTRADIO Awards show and he said she was in and out of character, dressed odd as he put it and cute. That is about all I can say on that. But let us face it, she has struggled to get her career off the ground and could be willingly accepeting what it takes now and her producer Sinclair would almost surely sell his soul for success. Now, I realize I have gone too deep on this one:rolleyes:

Nope. You're not too deep. You're spot on.
WeI've seen the pre-Poppy videos & they were so different than what we see now.

It's obvious artists have to kill who they are to be successful.

I have completely baseless theory that would likely collapse if anyone did any research into it; Titanic Sinclair and Vigilant Citizen are one in the same.

He didn't do an article on her until after this thread was created when he had likely received numerous e-mail long before. The whole Poppy was getting notice well before and when I first heard about it, well after it seems the rest of the internet did, the first thing I did was see what VC's take was... And there was nothing. Likewise, the Mars Argo videos have similar themes... But since they really didn't go viral, bringing them up would have been too suspicious.

Basically, I'm on to you! (And if I'm right, you can shut me up by sending me merch or something.)

...But yeah, personally I like the project. I don't think there's anything actually insidious or sinister behind it. It's satire, critiquing a lot of the entertainment industry, using common conspiracy imagery since whether you actually believe in some satanic conspiracy where they can replace people with clones or just think that it's a fitting metaphor for the awful things that go on in the industry... I mean, there's being hidden in plain sight and then there's That Poppy.

And frankly, nothing it does seems to glamorize the industry. The videos pretty much explicitly imply That Poppy is being hurt by her controllers/creators and the lyrics to her actual songs tend to seem... Well, critical of the vapid, ugly side of American culture.

The problem is, she's actually signed to a major label.

Right. Groups like Public Enemy and New Model Army were, too. Still managed to do some things that were subversive to the system.

But at the same time, I'm looking at this from the perspective of a creator. The project is something I would do myself with the intent of getting signed to a major label, knowing full well I could be playing chicken with the Devil. I even toyed with the idea of doing something similar, making a pop star with a MK Ultra/Illuminati image, but no one in my circle could be the "face" so it never left the stage of idle musings.

Secondly, there's a narrative to the project. It's telling a story, albeit in a disjointed way. Poppy, the character, is most definitely an AI, reset every time she begins to develop free will, with implications that no one in the industry is actually real; see videos like Selena Gomez. ("Why does Selena Gomez have so many numbers?") There's also various references throughout about dehumanization, not just of pop stars, but people and how we're looking into shallow things to find meaning in our life.

Pair this with the message of some of the actual songs (especially "Everybody Wants To Be Poppy" and "American Kids")... I'm just saying it seems more against this sort of thing than in favor of it.

Then again, I'm a bit different than most other conspiracy folks and tend to see things differently.

I'm on it. I still check the stuff out, I've missed a few videos.
I find that my faves are the ones featuring Charlotte. For a mannequin, she's got a real troubled life.
Oh but Poppy sure likes when you get notified about her videos though ;)

Did you notice that it's all reversed? Like Charlotte the mannequin is acting like she's human while Poppy on the other hand acts like a mannequin. They like to do things in reverse mode those satanists smh ...

I think the thing with Poppy is we get to see here possible ascent into the industry. Nobody can deny the changes in the early videos I listed on the Chinese version of YT and what we have left.

We won't know more until they actually do something with he beyond the YT mess which makes a little money but not enough to sustain them for long. There is a marketing effort here for sure but to discout that it could be more or take the word of Sinclair or anyone would be to ignore what has been learned about the industry. I get the feeling that they have to do something significant with her career sooner rather than later to sustain it. The videos will tire people in time.

Also, just because we speak of Poppy and others is for entertainment. Not all of us are hook, line and sinker or as closed to things as some imply in the threads. We know there are bigger things to talk about and worries out there but just chew the fat as they say in many areas.
