I would be cautious, Satin is a beguiler. There is a change in life style. I would never take my young children to see them as a witness for Christ. Their witness was to matter of fact to me....But God knows. The rich man said to Christ, what must I do to be saved, Obey the Laws of God. The rich man said I do obey the laws, Then Christ said, then give your riches to the poor and come follow me. The man walked away sadly, for he was very rich. I would not let them witness to my congragation....not that I am any better than them, but the are still of this world. It was a mixed message. What was missing was holiness.
And this perhaps goes to the heart of it. God loves and has paid for the sins of whosoever might come to Him in repentance.I would be cautious, Satin is a beguiler. There is a change in life style. I agree with you red, I would just be cautious, But the OT example of Esau and Jacob is a different then that of the example of Simon the Sorcerer and his supposed conversion and then offering money to have the power of the Holy Spirit. He was told to repent of his wickedness (Acts 8:4-25). We just have to judge inside the church to protect the floc until they all reach maturity in Christ. That is Judge sin...not condemnation of a brother. Love not the world, neither the things in the world (1 John 2:15-17) is a good measure of our state. And this perhaps goes to the heart of it. God loves and has paid for the sins of whosoever might come to Him in repentance.
Some people come to faith from “nice” backgrounds and pick up very little of the corruption of the world, others come to Jesus as rough as a bears backside!!!
Each of us have the Lord’s righteousness imputed to us but the road to sanctification looks different depending on where you set out.
This second exposition on the struggle between Esau and Jacob (representing the flesh and the spirit) was an unexpectedly astute teaching...
Yeah, your mentioning the rich young ruler reminds me of the recent "repentance" of Benny Hinn. I want to see fruits in keeping with repentance. He should give the money back to all those he's swindled out of money. Get rid of the salmon eating on his private jet, etc. Try being a regular bloke for once.I would be cautious, Satin is a beguiler. There is a change in life style. I watched what Benny had to say:-Yeah, your mentioning the rich young ruler reminds me of the recent "repentance" of Benny Hinn. I want to see fruits in keeping with repentance. I just hope he takes actions in keeping with repentance. I still don't buy that it's for real just yet. People can talk out of both sides of their mouths, you know. Hate to be cynical, yet people have disappointed me enough to where I just want to sit back and see what that consistently do first.I watched what Benny had to say:-
As people get older they get set in their ways so it is very significant that he has publicly turned his back on prosperity theology. From where Christians stand who have never preached it, it looks like no big deal but he may face a backlash from other Christian ministers who still hold to it.
It gets more interesting - a longer interview with Benny does seem to indicate a genuine shift in theology and focus;-I just hope he takes actions in keeping with repentance. I hope it's for real. Like his nephew Costi Hinn says, "I have cautious optimism".It gets more interesting - a longer interview with Benny does seem to indicate a genuine shift in theology and focus;-
He's a total charlatan. Sigh. I hate this. I hate that non-Christians look at this and think this is Christianity. It's not. It's people claiming to be Christian who are not. I pray he really repents and comes to Jesus. Here's a viewpoint from a major skeptic's radio show who questions how genuine Benny Hinn really is. Starts properly approx 4th minute.
I don't know what to think. I do hope BiblethumpingWingnut is being pessimistic about this apparent repentance.
The respondees on the Youtube channel do agree with him.
While I may be reviled by you for saying so, posts like yours seem to imply that there is a version of Christianity that people should see versus one that people shouldn't see. It's a very hypocritical double-standard given the hostility you Christians (the ones of this forum specifically speaking, not anywhere else) have towards other religious faiths. He's a total charlatan. I was going to post that video from Justin Peters about Benny Hinn yesterday, but I cant seem to find it.He's a total charlatan. Sigh. I hate this. There is no such thing implied in that post. While I may be reviled by you for saying so, posts like yours seem to imply that there is a version of Christianity that people should see versus one that people shouldn't see. Well yes, in her comment, she said:There is no such thing implied in that post.
And I replied accordingly:I hate that non-Christians look at this and think this is Christianity. It's not. It's people claiming to be Christian who are not.

I'm pretty sure @Dalit was referring to false prophets and people using the label of Christianity disingenuously. Its not that there are versions that should and should not be seen but rather that there are purposeful and sometimes accidental corruptions and distortions that many people will take to be the truth without studying the bible to determine whether or not what is being taught is biblical.Well yes, in her comment, she said:

I find the whole question interesting and challenging in equal measure.I'm pretty sure @Dalit was referring to false prophets and people using the label of Christianity disingenuously. I had a long discussion with an Andersonite tonight about the implications of that wonderful and blessed word whosoever on the Andersonite doctrine of the reprobate person. This damnable doctrine teaches that there is a line that a person can cross whereby they are beyond hope of salvation, and can never be saved, even if they want to be. It's in direct contradiction to John 3:16, among other verses, and Anderson uses this evil doctrine to damn all homosexuals to hell.John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I am definitely a “whosoever”. If God can redeem me, he can redeem you too.
Well... you don't seem to understand the words.Well yes, in her comment, she said:
You used it as an opportunity for shameless self-promotion. Whether any of it is true is up to the reader. And I replied accordingly:
