You’re not torturing Gnostics in your basement again are you @Vytas ;-)None of your business.
IOWs, you are full of shit and have no clue as to what your bible tells you to do to gain a Christ consciousness.None of your business.
How is Christianity nihilistic? God says that people are worth dying for because He died for all, while we were yet sinners, we weren’t good people that He died for us but evil.I'm interested to see what you have to say about this on this forum, also, how is Christianity not Nihilistic?
Hi Iblis!I see all idol worshiping theists to supernatural gods as defective thinkers.

Why does he stop his thinking with condescension of those with different world-views? How does this separate him from anyone else? I don't think he wishes to examine his own world-view, which is something that always ends up being psychologically projected upon others.Strange that this popped up in my YouTube feed a few moments ago...
I've found that the translations into English are an absolute disaster. Many bibles change words and that makes a big difference.
It’s a tough one as to answer it altruistically would be to deny the nature of redemption. As Jesus paid the price for the sins of the whole world, this wouldn’t really fly. On the other hand, Christians who DO care about people who presently do not believe often do what they can (e.g. interacting with those hostile to Christianity on forums etc).Question for anyone: If God told you "you believed, so you are saved, and you're free to take your place in heaven, but I am giving you the choice for someone else to take your place in heaven instead"
In this purely hypothetical scenario, what is your answer?
Could you expand on particular translation problems you have come across?I've found that the translations into English are an absolute disaster.
It's been too long ago to remember many specifics. Todd has mentioned some of them. You might ask him.Could you expand on particular translation problems you have come across?
Agreed, hence the reason I used the term "god" with a little "g". He is not the supreme God and creator of the world. Paul refers to this idea in 2 Corinthians 4:4.The only thing I'd change is that Satan and his minions aren't 'God' on earth as they don't have any real power, only the power that we give them to influence our lives. I'd argue they are tireless deceivers who put obstacles down the path of righteousness, discourage us from getting to know our Creator by distracting us with the empty and trivial matters, pleasures and experiences of this world.
God giving you the opportunity to do the exact same for just one person doesn't fly? Why not?As Jesus paid the price for the sins of the whole world, this wouldn’t really fly.
God is not genocidal. Only someone who thinks every word in the Bible is the literal word of God would think he is genocidal. How did you built the trust you have in god being a good god given his genocidal ways?
What makes you think a genocidal god is worthy of your love?

also, why would you not answer altruistically? I don't understand. It's meant to be hypothetical. It’s a tough one as to answer it altruistically would be to deny the nature of redemption. On the other hand, Christians who DO care about people who presently do not believe often do what they can (e.g. interacting with those hostile to Christianity on forums etc).
One of the reasons many of us carry on is because there was a time we remember well when we were “enemies of God” and had someone who could be bothered to try to reach out to us.
The purpose of life is that God is love and created life so he could share that love. He allowed creation to fall temporarily so that in the ages to come we would never doubt that he alone is worthy to be in control. Becuase we will always retain the memory of the fallen world we will never again be tempted to doubt God's goodness or challenge his sovereignty. Now zoom back a bit more. What is the purpose of all of that?
You've basically only tackled the world's aspect of existence, which is only temporary.
Simple answer - I am a “saved” person, not a “saviour” - to answer would require me to be a kind of being other than who I am!also, why would you not answer altruistically?
God replies (hypothetically): "I have given you two options. Choose one."Simple answer - I am a “saved” person, not a “saviour” - to answer would require me to be a kind of being other than who I am!
Btw - I would like to think I would be the person to allow someone else to take my place but I suspect that no human being faced with these two polar opposite choices would be able to act against their own eternal best interests.also, why would you not answer altruistically? I don't understand. It's meant to be hypothetical.
