Random Christian Thoughts

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to start a thread about random thoughts we might have about Christian things..whether it be a prayer, Biblical insight or maybe lyrics to a favorite song, it would be nice to just post things to reflect upon or encouragement to share.

I was thinking this morning about the millennium and Jesus reigning a thousand years, however, aren’t a thousand days just one day to Him. So, really Jesus reigns one day?
2 Peter‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.

I think this is a good idea, Lisa. Christian fellowship glorifies God. :)

I've always taken 2 Peter 3:8 as an expression of God's eternal nature, and not as a means of interpreting prophecy. I am convinced we'll get the full 1000 years. It's something we can all look forward to, and a great thing to reflect on. The world will be at peace, there will be no famine, disease, or poverty, and we'll be helping the Lord effect his perfect government.

I think for us it would be a thousand years..but would it be or feel like only one day for Him?

He will experience it the same way we will, however that will be. For the earth and it's inhabitants, it will be a literal thousand years. We won't be bound by the dimension of spacetime, though, so all bets are off, and that's another cool thing to contemplate.

I really don't think it's possible to even begin to appreciate or imagine what it will be like for us in our glorified bodies during the Millennium. We'll be able to fly. Vanish in the blink of an eye and reappear a billion light years away. My son asked me what it would be like, and I said, "We'll be like Superman," but that doesn't even start to cover it.

If we are outside spacetime, does that mean we'll be able to travel in time? Why not? Imagine watching creation, or the Flood, or Moses receiving the Ten Commandments. Or the JFK assassination from the grassy knoll, lol.

No Prayer Goes Unheard

Often we pause and wonder,
When we kneel down to pray,
Can God really hear
The prayers that we say.
But if we keep praying
And talking to Him,
He’ll brighten the soul
That was clouded and dim,
And as we continue
Our burdens seem lighter,
Our sorrow is softened
And our outlook is brighter.
For though we feel hlepless
And alone when we start,
Our prayer is the key
That opens the heart.
And as our heart opens
The dear Lord comes in
And the prayer that we felt
We could never begin
Is so easy to say
For the Lord understands
And gives us new strength

By the touch of His hands.

I wonder....we reign with Christ for a thousand years, and Him ruling it with iron, will we be exploring?

I can’t imagine anything about what living with God would be like, except to think that there will be no sun because He will be the light now..:)

Revelation‬ ‭22:1-5‬ ‭
Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.
Because of these verses I had to change my mind about what ‭‭living with God will be like...

1.) I used to think heaven will be like living on earth and thought about it in earthly terms but I realized after reading this that it won’t be like being on earth.

2.) We will be so attached to God that His name will be on our foreheads and we will serve Him.

3.) There won’t be any night?

4.) No sea
Revelation‬ ‭21:1‬ ‭
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
‭‭5.) I have no idea how to live without all this..
Revelation‬ ‭21:4‬ ‭
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.
6.) How great is this...what we all long for to happen..
Revelation‬ ‭21:3‬ ‭
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them.
‭‭but then I think...God already lives in me and helps me everyday, will it be so different? Yes, I will be seeing Him but I already live by faith...
‭‭
Edit: forgot to add
7.) There will still be nations? Who need to be healed?

Praise the Lord everybody! I'd like to share something real quick.

Yesterday, while I was trying to sleep, I felt a demonic presence near me. I was kind of scared, not gonna lie. I actually rebuked them in the name of Jesus. I sat up and began praying to God and reading some verses. I didn't feel that awful presence anymore but instead, I felt warmth spiritually, mentally, and physically. It took me about 2 hours to go back to sleep.

I usually only feel those bad presences when I've sinned, or when I'm about to sleep. These demons just don't quit!

Well, I'm not having it. I rebuke thee in Jesus name, that you will whither away and die! Do you know who I am? I am the daughter of Yahweh!! I know you're scared of him. I also know your time is running short, so you and your master have to try to collect so many souls, but I tell you what- you ain't collecting my soul! If ya really think I'm gonna fail, get outta here, you know Yahweh is more powerful than you! That's right, begone in Jesus name!

Prayers Can’t Be Answered Unless They Are Prayed

Life without purpose
is barren indeed—

There can’t be a harvest
unless you plant seed,

There can’t be attainment
unless there’s a goal,

And man’s but a robot
unless there’s a soul.

If we send no ships out,
no ships will come in,

And unless there’s a contest,
nobody can win.

For games can’t be won
unless they are played.

And prayers can’t be answered
unless they are prayed.

So whatever is wrong
with your life today,

You’ll find a solution
if you kneel down and pray.

Not just for pleasure,
enjoyment, and health,

Not just for honors
and prestige and wealth.

But pray for a purpose
to make life worth living,

And pray for the joy
of unselfish giving,

For great is your gladness
and rich your reward

When you make your life’s purpose
the choice of the Lord

Psalm 31:14
I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.”
Lord, I want my lips to praise You in all situations. No matter the circumstances I am in, I want my first thoughts to be of praise, because I trust You with my life. May everything I do be a witness to this trust.

Psalms‬ ‭139:16‬ ‭
And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them.
‭‭
I know that they interview the oldest person in the world and ask them their secret for long life and they all have different answers. I always remember this verse and think, your days were already known, you had no control over it.

Thanks for starting this thread Lisa.

Earlier this week I helped a lady from my church unpack things in her new house and then went out shopping with her.

Her positivity and faith in Jesus was both encouraging and convicting to me.
Here I am, someone who is fully mobile but whinges because I can't drive.

In comparison, this woman has polio and unable to walk without crutches, but she manages to see God's hand in it all

She does live by this verse:
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

My husband put up our son’s waterbed for sale and it sold so quickly we were amazed! Wasn’t for sale even a day when it was bought by a nice couple who needed it for their son. His nurse said that a waterbed would help with bed sores, the poor guy is on a ventilator. I don’t remember how long they said they had been looking but I feel so blessed that we were able to give them something that may help their son. Thank you God for letting us be able to help someone who really needed what we had.
