Homeless epidemic

Umm...

Banks often own these empty properties, since they are foreclosures, holding on to them as long as they can (since unless you declare bankruptcy you still owe them money for the house you got kicked out of) and sell to developers when the price is high. Homeless would not be a problem in this country if it wasn't for the housing market.
The elite again.. BANKS.

Take a look at this:

He did nothing wrong, he worked, still works, his spouse died and his son died in war after that his brother was murdered, now he has terminal cancer and is about to die himself yet he keeps his chin up. And he's so beautiful! Hes not on any form of drugs..However when out in the freezing cold and constantly being asked if you want drugs, eventually you think "Might aswell, my life is screwed anyway" And so it begins. We shouldnt be quick to judge our fellow man, I'VE been homeless. TWICE! I showered at the gym and kept clean but..

How is it we can quickly solve the homelessness problem for foreign refugees flooding our shores, but somehow just can't do the same for our own people?

It’s land development. The apartments and housing that are being built are all luxury, there is a shortage of regular ones and parasitic landlords will charge much more than it’s worth.

The problem can be solved if we invested in affordable apartment development and developed universal rent control. Rent should never be more than 10% of income. Honestly let’s just abolish the concept of the landlord and we can solve this problem.

The other side is we need to invest in mental
health, so this is another reason why we need universal healthcare that covers mental health.

Solutions are available it just takes the will to do it.

Eyes to see DevaWolf, eyes to see.
So you’ve personally eyeballed every homeless person in america? Did it ever occur to you that you see homeless addicts because your husbands business happens to be on a block where the drug dealer makes his rounds, where as other homeless people are ELSEWHERE. They aren’t ALL addicts Lisa. The stats disagree with you.

@Colonel Valerio in nyc they are trying to pass something to deal with the landlord issue... all the property owners/real estate assholes are up in arms. They ARE atleast trying... it cost me $6000 to get into my apartment when I moved to Brooklyn. $1500 of it I didn’t know about until signing - brokerage fee (didn’t even realize I used a brokerage found the listing on a website) had to sell my car to afford to get in and the apartment was nowhere near public transport. And I got lucky, $1500/month is a steal for Brooklyn. Had I not been able to sell my car or had family to let me stay while I saved the money up I would have been homeless despite working. The whole system is screwed and blaming its victims is ass backwards

YEAH! And that's what I'D like to know! Bc over here they actually build these great fancy houses with shit assed expensive rents for the immigrants ONLY. Only rich people can afford those rents besides immigrants who are on benefits and the rich doesnt wanna live amongst them bc they behave like crazy pigs.

Same as always; White man must perrish.

I mean... the homeless already get themselves arrested on really hot or cold nights to get out of the weather and get a meal. That’s always an option for you if you’d like?

I’d hope we could do better for our homeless citizens then detention camps, or prison cells, personally

Illegal immigrants don’t qualify for public housing in America, and legal immigrants face the same wait list as anyone else.

This white victim stuff needs to stop.

In America, white people (and Asians) are UNDER represented (THANKFULLY) in in the homeless population. Black people make up the majority of the homeless population. I know you're in Sweden and likely never had to deal with a person of color outside of visiting big cities, and but the whole "poor white people" angle is racist crap.

Oh yeah? Then come over here and walk through Rosengård and we'll see if you make it out without being robbed by middle eastern sandpeople. "Never seen a black person.." LoL, we see them ahlright, but mainly brown..while they r*pe US! Ever heard of the swedish r*pe epidemic? You know NOTHING.

In my city we dont have a problem with black people and never had, the ones I know are hard workers and nice types but the muslims...theyre inhuman, I'd say pure EVIL.

Rosengård is a city where immigrants and migrants find themselves. I.E.: Poor people. I could save myself a plane ticket and just go to some places in Detroit and get mugged by people of all the colors of the rainbow. From what I read, Rosengard isn't just Arbaic either. There's Eastern Europeans/former Soviet Bloc. Do you have an issue with them, too?

It's not Muslims. It's poverty, hopeless, and the fact that many of them grew up in warzones.

Nah... mental illness. Truly sad. There's a young, mentally ill woman in our area. Always walking around with her suitcase, usually sitting near the library. She doesn't look the part. I stopped to ask her if she was stranded (car broken down or something), and she said no.. just heading to the library. I picked up on it then-- and now I see her around often. I don't hesitate to give money to people like that. But then I've also been known to buy alcohol for the hard cases-- its actually more dangerous for them to do without, at that point. Something to keep in mind. There but for the grace...
I don’t believe I could give an alcoholic alcohol..wouldn’t feel good about it. You have to start giving it up sometime to get off it because that is the only way out.

That’s not even about homelessness. Jesus was preaching and people were getting hungry.

it made you more aware of one specific piece of a problem lisa, not the whole picture. not all homeless people are exactly like the ones hanging out in front of your husbands business.

About half have a substance abuse problem. that leaves almost half that dont. thats a lot of people lisa. there are homeless families, homeless teen runaways, homeless vets, approximately half of homeless people have jobs.. i knew a homeless guy at one of my jobs who had enlisted in the army and was waiting to be sent to basic training and was living in a tent in the woods walking back and forth to his job everyday. there are families living in cardboard boxes underneath a bridge in town here. this is way deeper than some addicts... when jobs pay so little and housing costs soo much and public housing programs have decades long wait lists what the hell do you think is going to happen?

You really don't get it do you?

I never really thought of white privilege as a thing, but seeing you post makes clear it does really exist. You seem to be the epitome of white privilege and seem to think opportunities are handed to everyone on a silver platter, and if not 'pray to Jesus'.

If that really worked the world would be much better than it is today, I guarantee you.

I would pray to Jesus, which is why I always say to pray about things....He is the one who helps me everyday, why wouldn’t I tell people to pray about things? And Jesus also helps you no matter your color or your circumstances..so even if I were white, brown..etc..Jesus will help.

If Jesus really worked..but He does and all you have to do is believe in Him...I’m not telling people to do what I haven’t done and am currently doing. With God all things are possible.

I don’t think its white privilege to think that way, I think its faith to think like that. If I were going to be homeless I would be praying up a storm..

Then how come they go to my docs office and ask her to sign sick leave papers when theyre healthy bc they dont wanna work? When she refuses she gets death threats and her entore family aswell to the point they actually have a note i swedish and arabic about zero tolerans for violence. Its a race problem, believe me. Our other races around dont behave like them.

Baby shark!
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA.
Officials in West Palm Beach are hoping a continuous loop of children’s songs played throughout the night will keep homeless people from sleeping on the patio of a city-owned rental banquet facility.
