But it is about what they do, they aren’t excused because they are homeless. No one is excused because of their circumstances.

Help people but don’t keep them in their circumstances...that’s enabling isn’t it? Jesus didn’t tell us to enable people’s sins.
Jesus told you to help the least of your brothers and sisters. He didn’t tell you to ask questions and determine whether they were worthy or not. He specifically told you to worry about the smote in your own eye.

If you don’t want to listen to jesus Lisa that’s fine. But don’t be shocked when you get where your going.. you were warned

Lol...someone who doesn’t even know Jesus and doesn’t really understand scripture is going to warn me? Um..ok

Is that what I’m doing..determining if someone is worthy or not? Or am I saying that what is being doing presently isn’t solving any problems and is keeping people in a cycle of misery. Which is what I have said from the beginning and that gets translated in my deciding who is worthy.

That I think most homeless people are addicts is what bothers you. Even the article I posted doesn’t paint the homeless in a good light..setting fires, doing drugs and engaging in prostitution. It’s not just my opinion that homelessness is bad.

It appears I know more about Jesus than you do... go figure.

I was hungry and you fed me. That’s pretty damn clear.

No Lisa what bothers me is that you claim to be Christian while being a horrible Person and displaying no Christ like qualities at all. That’s what bothers me. Your god was very very clear about helping those less fortunate and you choose to ignore it.

Not really, Jesus doesn’t leave anyone how He finds them, He makes them better.
You aren’t jesus and you aren’t god. You are just supposed to help how you can and leave the rest to the actual deities. You aren’t supposed to ask questions first. You most certainly aren’t supposed to begrudge them what meager assistance is available because it’s making your street less attractive

But I follow God and the Holy Spirit is in me teaching me..is that’s what’s happening to you?

I can’t test the spirits? Hmmm..doesn’t sound Bublical to me.

You know these just sound like Jess’s rules to me. What “I” say goes and anything you think is wrong. Life doesn’t work that way Jess.

I would bet money it isn’t the “holy” spirit teaching you to be so hateful to those “beneath you” Lisa.

No, they are actually the rules given to you in the Bible. Literally. Have you read it?

Question me?

No... question aka judge whether someone is worthy of help. That’s God’s rule Lisa not mine.

The passages on helping the poor are very specific in saying the LEAST of your brothers and sisters.
I think you have to wonder if giving a meal or a bit of change is really helping the homeless person in the first place.

That you wonder makes you a heretic. The clearest parts of the New Testament are Jesus’ social teachings and you reject them fully.

Evangelicals are vile hypocrites whose Churches protect abusers just as much as the Catholic hierarchy. Evangelical Christianity is the greatest threat to human freedom in this planet. I promise you that the Holy Spirit is not in you. It’s a self-delusion. Being a fundamentalist Christian is a constant state of self-delusion.

The mask of righteousness that you wear will never conceal the monsters that you all are.

“It is disgraceful that people are being barred from neighborhoods and clubs on a basis that would have barred Jesus Himself.”

Never said you did. But don’t claim to be a Christian when the only thing filling your heart is contempt.
Is your vacation over already? That was a short 2 weeks...

Lol..what contempt? It’s not contempt to think that giving people handouts isn’t helping anyone out of homelessness but is enabling them. That the homeless shouldn’t be able to live on the streets, disrupt businesses and use the streets as a toilet. Why would I want to see people live in such a way, why would you want them to?

Lisa.

I want you to explain to me what you think this passage means. I'll even use the King James Version in case you're

KJV Matthew 25: 31-46 said:
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
