I've seen the INCREDIBLE homeless epidemic in the states, how the streets of San Fran, Los Angeles and Washington DC is filled with people who cant pay the skyrocketing rents anymore, gets laied off or sick and gets evicted. I wonder if they are doing this as another step to bring in their New World Order?

They DO want to part the classes between rich and poor so considering they want us all as dumb, small goblings who only can work and not think, while they have beauty, great homes and health, it's not impossible.

This is the result of unbridled capitalism and lesser to no available resources for those who are disabled or otherwise disadvantaged to flourish.

The underclass is nothing new, it has existed for as long as humanity existed and has only somewhat diminished in western countries in the 20th century due to technology making resources more available to the general population in the West. The elite just like to get back to that, impoverished masses are easier to control.

I’d look more at addiction..drug and alcohol..being the worst culprit of homelessness.
Rather than spreading your homeless rationale nonsense in this thread, why don’t you read the article that was posted? Here I’ll even help you out, Lisa. Look at the apartments in the cities Vixy has cited in www.apartments.com. Do you see how much the rents are? How is any middle-class citizen supposed to come up with first and last’s month rent when rent starts roughly at $2K/month? I know I wouldn’t be able to afford an apartment in any of those cities.

Give your head a shake and stop blaming the homeless people who don’t control the rent.

I still think addiction is to blame for most homelessness..your agreeing or not doesn’t change that.

What happens when you pour water into a cup that is already full to the brim? The water spills over. Now what happens when you keep adding immigrants to a housing market that has very low vacancy rates?

It's a supply and demand issue, not one of a lack of more government funding.

You can't let in more than two million immigrants a year and not have a constant, ongoing housing crisis. If you can understand the game of 'musical chairs,' you can understand why we have so many homeless. There are always more people looking for housing than there are houses.

Except in these places there are way more empty houses. The houses just happen to be so expensive that the people can not afford them. Nice try.

You cannot ignore the law of supply and demand. It is as concrete as any law of science. If there were that many emply units, rents/prices would be falling, not rising.

Umm...

Banks often own these empty properties, since they are foreclosures, holding on to them as long as they can (since unless you declare bankruptcy you still owe them money for the house you got kicked out of) and sell to developers when the price is high. Homeless would not be a problem in this country if it wasn't for the housing market.

You have to understand, these cities have been run by democrat politicians for decades. They pay lip service to "helping the poor" and "caring about the plight of minorities," but rather than do things to alleviate the problems, they either ignore them or make them worse.

City and county officials could increase public programs, such as food banks, shelters, affordable housing, mental health care, but those that do are few and far between.

In my area, we actually had public officials and police threaten to arrest volunteers who were feeding homeless people in one of the downtown areas. The city is a demobot stronghold, so it doesn't make any sense, on paper. The thing is, these officials have friends who own condos and houses nearby, and those friends would rather not have to wade through a sea of indigents on their way home to their quarter-of-a-million dollar apartments. It's all about self-interest, at the expense of society as a whole.

Nah... mental illness. Truly sad. There's a young, mentally ill woman in our area. Always walking around with her suitcase, usually sitting near the library. She doesn't look the part. I stopped to ask her if she was stranded (car broken down or something), and she said no.. just heading to the library. I picked up on it then-- and now I see her around often. I don't hesitate to give money to people like that. But then I've also been known to buy alcohol for the hard cases-- its actually more dangerous for them to do without, at that point. Something to keep in mind. There but for the grace...

Just as I thought then; the elite starving the poor to death. :( If they could, they'd close those foodbanks in an instant and I bet they're working on it.
