Denying that there was a world and a code of law pre Bible is just ridiculous.

I’m asking you directly if God’s law was the impetus behind the early codes of law despite Jews and the Bible not existing for another couple thousands of years why were there no laws against homosexuality until then?
Why is it ridiculous? Nothing predates God...In the beginning God created the heavens and earth.

And I’ve been telling you that God put His law in our hearts where our consciences either condemn us or not...how is that not predating codes of law?

It was a normal thing in the ancient world. And your statement didn’t answer my question.

Why weren’t there laws forbidding it prior to the Bible? If God’s law predates the Bible and the edicts against homosexuality are part of God’s law why didn’t the code of law reflect this? Why did it accurately reflect the Ten Commandments yet stay silent on the rest you all contend is so important?
"It was a normal thing in the ancient world"

Yes during phallic worship where orgies were practiced and children offered to gods . Or demons.

"why didn't the code of law reflect this"
Because God already said in Genesis that the man will become one with his wife and we should multiply on the earth.

You clearly aren’t understanding my question...

I told you there were laws against murder and theft - formal written codes of law - prior to Jews or the Bible. You told me that those were still based on the Bible because god wrote the law in our hearts.

However homosexuality was common in the ancient world. There were no laws against it and it wasn’t viewed as bad. So if the law against homosexuality comes from god and is therefore written in our hearts why was this the case?

Why did the moral code written in our hearts lead to early law codes which resemble the Ten Commandments yet nothing as far as homosexuality?

Do you not see a bit of a problem here?

Your comments are completely off topic here man...

I’m talking about pre Bible and Jews. Since Lisa contends all those early systems of laws are actually from god as well.

How do you know it wasn’t viewed as bad back then, because it existed? All sins have existed from the beginning, doesn’t mean they are right. People started sacrificing to God early on as Cain and Abel...they knew about sin, and what to do to appease God..well Abel did..Cain wanted to do things his way and was rejected.

Anyway..I do understand what you are trying to allude to but I don’t think you understand my answer is answering your question. Nothing pre dates God and His putting His law in our hearts. We all know what is good and evil, our eyes were opened in the garden, nothing is earlier than that!

I contend that God put His laws in our hearts..people can make any law they want..but what God says is right and wrong is not negotiable. People could make up other laws if they want..the Bible shows that God has His laws and the Jewish leaders added to them to make people’s lives tougher...

I'm just answering.

Men enacted laws for convenience but most of them seems to be based on Noah's instructions.

That being said, If phallic worship became widespread, they certainly wouldn't enact laws against homosexuality, bestiality ect..

The Bible is how old Lisa? The world is how old Lisa? Plenty predates the Bible.

Even if I give the earliest possible dating to the earliest books of the Bible, we are still talking literally hundreds of thousands of years of human existence and thousands of years of civilization before the first books of the Bible were even a thought.

The Aboriginals can trace their society back 50k years at least, much older than the desert nomads Yahweh decided to reveal himself to.

Geology, archaeology, historical record, fossils, etc.

How do you know the babble is historical truth?
How is age calculated and could that system of calculation be wrong giving the earth more age then it really is?

I’m gonna assume you mean the Bible...I just believe God.

Quote to me where I'm encouraging revenge. Otherwise, you're being disingenuous and arguing in bad faith.
Of course.

But first-- a correction of your dramatic misquote-- I said you approve revenge... and you do. @Scars512 said this--

I mean, what is the difference between an all black sorority or an all white sorority? Both exclude people based on race...

Your reply...
Most of the black sororities and fraternities exist because people of color were banned from others. 'cause you know, racist people didn't want them around. It's it pointless today? Probably. But again, it was sort of unfair for blacks to be barred... So what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
The exclusion of a people, due to their race, is unfair, to be sure-- criminally so. It is understandable that those people-- or in this case, their descendants-- may feel entitled to do the very same thing to the perpetrators of the crime-- or, rather, to their descendants. A debt of sorts has been created (as all evils do)-- it seems natural to demand payment from someone.

What we cannot, in good conscience, say, is this is a solution.
... what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
Far from "pointless," this only gives new life to an existing evil, and perpetuates the hate that is already suffocating society.
... I want equality for people.
Really? Doesn't sound like it... revenge brings healing, progress and equality to no one-- obviously-- and society, now, testifies to this.

I'm going to call you Luigi, because dude, you make some pretty huge leaps.

To begin with, that's not encouraging revenge. It's me believing that as a white person I have no right to try to force myself into black spaces in the name of equality, especially considering those black spaces exist because of inequality in the first place. It's me personally believing that any white person trying to force themselves into such a situation are just doing it out of a false sense of victimhood.

It's also ignoring that non-black people can attempt to join black fraternities and sororities, even if individual ones might vote against allowing you. Same's true for any of them, though,

boy, we are way off topic here.

i dont believe the bible is 100% historical truth, but i think some of those stories did occur.

as a former proponent of hard science, i now question all of todays methodologies. science forms an opinion about evolution, for example, and then dismisses all other evidence to the contrary (check out my thread here: https://vigilantcitizenforums.com/threads/out-of-place-artifacts.1181/#post-52149). this holds back true scientific investigation. radiocarbon dating is unreliable, and fossil records are ambiguous. scientists take a tiny fragment of fossil bone and make huge assumptions about what this creature was and what his habits were (and whether it was more man or ape). fossils in different strata age differently, and the radioactive decay in some loams is far different than the surrounding soils. check out michael cremos forbidden archeology.
we were told (via the rockefeller foundation-- check out james corbetts report "big oil conquered the world" ) that oil was a non-renewable natural resource and that isnt true. ive already posted about the coal formations being very recent rather than 100s of millions of years old.
bottom line is that todays science is rigged, manipulated, and full of half-truths. its not true science but a theory being supported by little evidence and lots of fallacies. speaking out about it in the academic circles and you will either be ridiculed, or worse, lose your position. its unfortunate, but science is not out looking for the true story.

Only in your headspace, I'm afraid, because that is exactly what it is. That you're fishing for approval is noted, though.

No one suggested that a "white person" try to "force themselves into such a situation" either, in this exchange, much less, in the name of equality.

We aren't dealing with a prior inequality issue, btw-- it was a dehumanization issue.

So while the tendency toward retribution is understandable, it needs to be taken off the table as an option, unless your goal is to preserve the divide and further the endless exceptions made for ongoing racial tension and hatred. It has to stop somewhere.

Okay, Luigi. If you say, so. Don't know who's approval I'm fishing for though.

The entire argument that non-blacks aren't allowed in black fraternities/sororities is bunk, anyway. They are. But even if they weren't, as a white guy, I'm not going to have my feelings hurt if black people want a place just for themselves.

You mean like the dehumanization some posters have aimed towards the LGBT community? Yeah. That's bad.

I'm still not sure how you come up with vengeance in that. Like, at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

These Guys Are Planning A "Straight Pride Parade" In Boston And Twitter Can't Get Enough

The group's application to actually hold the parade has not yet been approved, according to the city.

Boston officials say a group claiming they will hold a "straight pride parade" in the city this summer has not actually been granted a permit to do so after the so-called event went viral.

It all started with a group of men who call themselves "Super Happy Fun America." According to its website, the group exists to "celebrate the diverse history, culture, and contributions of the straight community."

I think they were doing some epic trolling.
The real straight parade is just having some kids.

Maybe they were, maybe they were just fed up with all the gay pride stuff getting so much attention...to the point that one should feel ashamed of being straight.

In the end I think they were thought to be neo-nazis...but then again that could just be a label that was out on them to make them seem worse than they are-idk. I know they were using Brad Pitt as their mascot until Mr. Pitt told them to stop using them-one would think they would have gotten his permission first?

Anyway...gay people have kids too now.

Looks like the reviews are in. I found the most interesting aspect was that a.) no one minded that there was a gay parade and b.) straight pride parade was a white parade..go figure! The media has done its job!
