“Straight pride - it’s worked for thousands of years, and you can have babies”
I actually loled to this one. :D Anywho, pride isnt a christian thing..But I get their point, theyre sick of having depravity shoved up in their faces and as am I. Did you know that the bible says Jesus apologize to the righeous in the end times bc of them having to witness and live amongst all the perversions and sin? Its pretty fabouless.

And you'll burn in hell if you don't cloth the naked, feed the hungry, and visit the sick and imprisoned. How many Christians flat out ignore those things?
LOL! How dramatic.

Permitting starvation vs co-signing whatever kink you happen to entertain is a positively absurd comparison-- they are in no way comparable. Seems you've been wallowing in sanctimony so long, you can't even tell the difference.

It is dramatic. It's supposed to be. The comment was deliberately hyperbolic. The focus on Old Testament commendation over New Testament compassion is something that almost drove me away from Christianity.

Christ never spoke about homosexuality. He spoke about how we shouldn't judge other people and He spoke about how we need to help our fellow man.

No, it wasn't. It was self-righteous nonsense

That's unfortunate. Even more so that you're dependent on other people for your opinions.

Indeed. That doesn't seem to stop you, though.

Believe what you want. But if you want to talk about self-righteousness...

That's unfortunate. Even more so that you're dependent on other people for your opinions.
I was a teenager. Teenagers aren't exactly known for their fantastic judgment. It was also a decade and a half ago.

Indeed. That doesn't seem to stop you, though.
Why should it? I want equality for people. That has nothing to do with my religion.

Yup, think its in the revelation somewhere, didnt you read it? I remmeber it ended with "For this, I am sorry" he spoke straight to the righteous in that sentence and apologized for what they have to see and witness but it is a necessity bc of prophecy.

I’m sorry, I don’t remember reading that Jesus apologized to the saints in Revelations. So I’m not sure what verse you’re talking about. Could you be talking about this verse? But then again it’s not actually an apology...

Why should it stop you from judging people?
It shouldn't, I guess, if you're comfortable in your overt hypocrisy.
I'm going to need you to explain that hypocrisy again, chief, 'cause I'm not sure I see it.

Calling people out for using religion as an excuse for bigotry isn't hypocritical since if you're going to use the Bible as your excuse when chances are you don't follow every law written in the Bible... Well, you know. You're using the Bible.

Most self-righteous hypocrites, like yourself, don't.

Please.
You approve revenge-- not reform. There's nothing heroic about that.

And, no... I didn't 'use the bible.' But you're lost in your stereotypes, so you assume I did. You're sitting in judgment of anyone who identifies as Christian, casting stones from your little glass house (in willful ignorance).
when chances are you don't follow every law written in the Bible...

You don't follow every law in the bible-- no one does. If you understood the faith you claim to have, you would know that.

Quote to me where I'm encouraging revenge. Otherwise, you're being disingenuous and arguing in bad faith.

We're getting off topic but Christ did speak about that particular sin, by allusion:

"Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city."

It's not bigotry, again just facts. Anyone who thinks Jesus, Mohammed, or any other bible figure would have been accepting of gay marriage is living in an alternate reality.

And Sodom's sin was selfishness, need, and pride.

What a Biblical figure thinks also doesn't factor into a secular government nor are theocracies, historically, a very good model of governance. Religious belief is not something I think should influence laws.

But it already has..
You shall not murder.
You shall not steal.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

You keep insisting that however those laws predate the Bible. There are really strong reasons to outlaw murder and thievery which need no religious basis to stand. They are universal and laws like that exist in countries with no Christian history at all.

When you get into things which can only be argued are wrong from a biblical or religious standpoint that’s a different matter.

And I keep telling you that nothing predates the Bible...

Why do you think that those things are universal? Could it be because..
For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them.
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:14-15‬ ‭
