How can you be so sure? Maybe neither worked alone, but combined. Please stop talking in absolutes.
It didn’t work to be drinking the alkaline water anyway. He still spent a week in the hospital where the staff struggled to keep him hydrated. Then it disappeared and he was able to stay hydrated, they didn’t know what caused it but thought that it was a side affect from chemo. Either way the alkaline water wasn’t much help in this case and he had been drinking it for quite some time.

What is my absolute? That if given the chance, people want to live not die?

No it’s that everyone wants that at ANY COST. Which isn’t true. If it was we wouldn’t have advanced medical directives.

How do you know? Not saying that’s what I would say to someone...
If i've suffered hell in this world and i want to get it over with and someone tells me that "if you do that you'll go to hell" which is basically eternal suffering with no getting out, i'll probably go insane. Saying that will not make me want to live, it will make me regret being born. I'll probably spend the rest of my life crying that why my parents gave birth to me or why did God create me.

However, i personally believe that assisted suicide should be ONLY for terminally ill patients or elders that are really old and sick and basically zombies.
Because "if you want to die, you can" sends an awful message to people suffering from depression and other sorts of illnesses.

Well, ya, people only think the worst and so they say, if it comes to that then I don’t want to live. They don’t know what their lives would actually be like then so they say let me die.
I remember the Teri Schiavo case years ago..so tragic. I don’t know why the husband didn’t just divorce her and let her live, especially when he had already moved on from her. O, well maybe I know...money. Anyway, her being alive wasn’t hurting anything.

Maybe you would and maybe you wouldn’t, won’t know until you get to that point.

Sort of like how they put animals down so they don’t suffer?

Ya, it does send a bad message all around and leads to worse things I think...because there is always worse things that come of letting in just a little.

Wow... everyone else I’ve ever talked to has had a completely different spin on that particulate case. Very telling.

I already declined medication for MS. This isn’t hypothetical for me. If long term reduced disability comes at the expense of my day to day health, I don’t want it. Especially when it isn’t even guaranteed. I’ll take my chances with the disease and living as healthy as I can.

And guess what? Since I made that decision I haven’t been sick once. December 2012 was the last time I was hospitalized and the last time I took their poison.

So believe what you want but it seems to be a common issue with you that you just assume for other people’s lives what’s best when you shouldn’t.

I’m not assuming anything. I just think that most people want to live.

Anyway, about the article I posted...I don’t think they should have been able to end the life of the 17 year old girl...she was too young. That they can do it as young as 12 is horrendous! How does a dr know that their suffering is unbearable with no end in sight at 12 or 17?

Well, where are the mass suicides then?
The regular suicide rate isn’t good enough for you? Why do you need mass suicides?

Take a look at the suicide rates Lisa, they are pretty high and getting higher every year.

More than 7 billion people alive? I don’t think so.

You’re trying to tell me that I’m wrong that most people want to live, I’m telling you that most people do because otherwise there would be mass suicides.
