I get what you're saying. I do. I just don't think this should be a federal issue.
I’d agree if the feds didn’t already overstep their bounds on damn near everything else. Since they do I have to wonder why make the stand here... and the case in question involved interstate travel so it did fall under federal domain

So...

We are like thisclose to sending 120,000 soldiers to Iran (war)

In the middle of a heightening trade war with China expected to cost every citizen 1,000$ in increased prices

We seized a North Korean ship the other day cuz they’re testing missiles again (supposedly)

And not a single thread on any of these things...

Yeah they want the war, let’s see if they’ll get it. If they do it will be the most devastating world conflict in our lifetimes.

The trade war is going to hurt middle American farmers the most, his supporters. What will it take for them to turn against him?

Part of me is hoping for a recession, it would virtually ensure he loses.

Anyway Jess no one cares as long as he anti-pc and owning the libs. His support is not based off of any kind of reason or logic, purely identity politics and emotion.

I can not financially withstand another recession... I lost more than enough during the last one. Still haven’t recovered fully.

My son is approaching draft age and there saying full on war with Iran will necessitate reinstating the draft so all of this scares me. It isn’t just politics it’s peoples lives

Some people think only the worst will happen and blame it on the sitting president. As for the economy if it crashes it will be the work of the Federal Reserve/Rothschild and not the orange man of fear.

The president you guys had before had us IN wars, where were you on him? Bluster and saber rattling has been going on since the beginning of time and is sometimes designed to detour war with shows of strength.

Now, I will admit that I think something will happen before the next election cycle that will derail the Trump train but what he has done up until now, nobody can complain about with concern to the economy which begs the question, why don't people take advantage of a time when they have it made instead of worrying about when they won't?

The bottom line of cold harsh truth is some people in other countries have it much worse and we have been living high on the hog as they say. So, no matter who is in office, tough times are coming one day for the country is bursting at the seams with immigration which is by design. Too many people, not enough resources. So, when those borders are wide open one day, expect something beyond a recession.

People here seem to look for the negatives and want to cast blame before events or actions actually take place. There is no perfect world where everything is just right. In fact, it is a mess for sure.

No one here is as Obama supporter and I was highly critical of his foreign policy. The Iran deal was about the only good thing Obama did in that regard and Trump tore it up putting us on a path to war.

Yeah we can complain about the economy, most of the promised job creations from the tax cuts were not delivered and the vast majority of workers have not seen a significant increase in income as was also promised, I have shown this repeatedly in this thread. Most jobs that have been created are low paying and the tax scam only benefits people like you, who are a minority.

Yeah lots of countries are worse, what’s your point? The USA is behind Europe and Canada/Australia/New Zealand in almost every standard of living metric, the richest country in the world can do better.

Trump has increased the deficit faster than anyone ( remember when conservatives cared about that ?) with tax cuts and massive increases to military spending at the expense of domestic spending. It’s not sustainable.

The trade war is costing all of us money, this president has been an unmitigated disaster for anyone not in your tax bracket.

Thou doth protest too much...

I never said I solely blame trump. I blame them all but he is the sitting president.

I wasn’t an obama fan and I’ve always been anti war.

And for the final time your assertion the economy is doing so well does not align with what I am seeing or the sociological research on the matter.

My cousin told me to stop worrying they are just setting up a garrison. So apparantly whatever’s going on isn’t even filtering down to regular military.. I told him he’s nuts, hope he’s right, hope if he’s not he doesn’t get sent there.

This was what I was worried about when he announced our withdrawal from Syria at the same time announcing an exponential increase in the military budget.

Isn't it kinda odd that Trump promised to pull troops out Syria but now he has a military option on the table for Venezuela? Inotherwords, pull them of one country and send them to another....
Trump campaigned on AMERICA FIRST and pulling back on foreign interventions. He is going against his own messaging.
In his own words:
"Would I do that? Absolutely," he said as he left the White House on Tuesday. "We have not planned for that… and if we did that, we'd send a hell of a lot more troops that."

I cannot possibly begin to comprehend your feelings on the matter (bolded part). Sending people's kids to die in a war and for what? So some oil man can get even wealthier? This isn't about democracy and they are using every card to sell the war. The humanitarian one being the jailing of 3 women who defied wearing headscarves in public. Saudi Arabia treats its women the same but no war is waged over that.

Speaking of the draft, could this ruling have been passed in anticipation of what is transpiring now?

Any and all things are possible. Thankfully I have 17 years before I need to worry about my daughter... and I have a feeling my son will be coming down with a case of bone spurs any day now.

Trump Has a New Solution to Poverty: Pretend Poor People Don't Exist

"A proposal to redefine 'poverty' would throw potentially millions of low-income people out of government-assistance programs"

This is disgusting because there's long been criticism and calls for reform of the outdated (over 50 years old) methods of calculating poverty. Instead the administration wants to move in the opposite direction, it's unbelievable.

I’m actually extremely pissed about this. I know so many families barely hanging on who already qualify for nothing. It’s absurd

Hey as long as The Zone gets his tax cut who cares right?

The poverty line is already too high, now it’s going to be higher. Unbelievable.
