I agree with you that p***philia is horribly wrong and I personally believe they should all be chemically castrated. But you mentioned the ones who proclaim their attraction and don’t act on it... and this is where it gets murky for me. If we don’t give them some way to come forward with that and get treatment then we are setting up a situation where they are almost guaranteed to act on it in the future when it could potentially be prevented. If someone is genuinely struggling with an impulse they need help with I think it is in everyone’s best interest that be taken seriously and dealt with compassionately.

The school forced him to compete on the girls team even though he continually requested to join the boys team. It's the school's fault for forcing a boy to wrestle with the girls. They had a rule that stated people have to compete according to their birth certificate regardless of if it's fair or not... and they didn't allow him to join the appropriate team. If you want to blame someone blame the school for having illogical policies, not the boy. And this is just a singular instance at one school... many schools have wised up and are allowing trans boys to compete on boys teams instead of unfairly forcing them to compete against girls.

Yeah. Michael Phelps had various biological advantages but he was still allowed to compete and win in the olympics. He has a genetic advantage because his muscles naturally produce 50% less lactic acid than an average athlete which allows him to work a lot harder for longer amounts of time. He also has a longer wingspan than normal and is double jointed... all of these things give him a genetic advantage over everyone else he competed against. But he was not berated for that... he was never banned from participating in the olympics, he was actually celebrated for his accomplishments. No one forced Phelps to take medicine to change his body like they are doing to women with naturally occurring hyperandrogenism. If they didn't ban him for his genetic advantages then they shouldn't ban women who are born with natural advantages either. It's a double standard.

All professional basketball players are far taller than average, but they are not barred from the sport for that... In fact, coaches recruit the tallest players to be on their team because they want the advantage. And competitive gymansts are always shorter than average because it is a beneficial advantage. If sports were consistent then people with an abnormal height advantage wouldn't be allowed to play either.
