Sorry, Colonel, didn't see this before I posted my own thread.

Death toll is approaching 200 now, with hundreds more wounded. Looking forward to the radios and TV stations of Sri Lanka broadcasting The Lord's Prayer together, some time in the next couple days, and the president, Maithripala Sirisena, wearing a John 3:16 t-shirt at his next press conference.

I told yall that the situation in Paris was more than meets the eye. Whether you see this as a cover-up, set up, attack on Christianity, the fire was started in Paris. Stay tuned for there are many spins.

In 2016 there was a bombing in Pakistan killing many which are in the region. The attack is well coordinated in Sri Lanka.

No group has claimed the attack as of yet.

It is very important to note that they've shut social media down in the country.

Why do I get the feeling that religious holidays are are just for the redirecting the attention from the real reasons for such horrendous acts?
it's easier to control people when they're afraid...

Oh I’m surprised. Are we allowed to talk about the bombers? They have been identified. Their names already out and even one of the bombers self-made video. But it’s been underreported on twitter and MSM, but u can find it on twitter with search function.

The name roughly translates as “National Monotheist Organization” :/

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2019/04/22/world/asia/ntj-warning-sri-lanka-government.amp.html

“In the days leading up to the devastating suicide attacks that killed nearly 300 people in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, the country’s security agencies had been closely watching a secretive cell of the National Thowheeth Jama’ath, a little-known radical Islamist organization that security officials in Sri Lanka now say carried out the attacks.”

“The security agencies had even been given specific intelligence on April 11 that the group, also known by the spelling National Thowheed Jama’ath, was planning to bomb Catholic churches. India appeared to have shared warnings with them about the group more than a week before then. And Sri Lankan security officials knew as far back as January that radical Islamists in the country, possibly tied to the group, had stockpiled weapons and detonators.”

Just saw this:
This is terrible news! May the dead rest in peace and the families have solace.
I seriously think that Indian intelligence RAW or one of the other scum organization is behind this.
It is forbidden in Islam to destroy or burn churches or synagogues and I could post a Quranic verse on this but this thread is in the news section.
Sri Lanka imposes emergency, says international network involved in attacks

"There was no claim of responsibility for Sunday’s attacks but suspicion was focusing on Islamist militants in the Buddhist-majority country."

It’s worth noting that when this first happened it was reported by Indian news agencies many with a seeming Hindu Nationalist viewpoint before it hit Reuters and AP. I know some of this is just because the proximity of the two countries.I’m not saying this was fabricated but it is being exploited in India by some dangerous people.

I thought this would be getting more attention but I guess it’s what happens when it’s a tragedy in a third world country.

Most tragedies in 'third world' countries are not reported nor grieved internationally, unfortunately.
When these events happen it is a good rule of thumb to ask who benefits from killing Catholics in churches, Muslims in mosques and Jews in synagogues? Good question to ask, who benefits from one minority targeting another in Sri Lanka?
Who wants an environment of more wars and destruction to bring about their stated goals?
Those who think they can push peaceful people by hook and by crook into division and hatred. All because they need their wars for one reason or another. Bring Jesus, Bring the Moshaich, (these two groups are demented because they think they can dictate God's timeline) Create a Greater India etc......
Inevitably, there will be those who fall for the division and hatred and others will usually retaliate against innocents.
The media is the one that should be held responsible for linking world religions to the actions of misguided terrorists.
Hindu nationalists have currently targeted Muslims and Christians as not fit for the Indian nationality. They have a project called Greater India and they are rewriting the Indian constitution to exclude these groups.

Shashi Tharoor is an Indian politician and a former career international diplomat who is currently serving as Member of Parliament.

I don't believe any of that and frankly iam sick and tired of the whole "we got solid intel 2 days ago on the perps but....." or "he's been on the terror watchlist for years but we let him off (conviniently, a month before the attack) thinking he was harmless". That's the story that's always put out, whether its France or Brussels.

And who bankrolls that Tawheed group anyway? What do they have to gain? What does the Sri Lankan gov't have to gain from the crisis its been presented or how do they intend to profit from it?

This quote from the link caught my eye:

"...the health minister said authorities were warned two weeks before the attacks, and had the names of attackers, but this information was not shared with prime minister Wickremesinghe.
The president, Maithripala Sirisena, has the portfolio of defence.
“This is the only country where when the prime minister summons the security council they don’t assemble,” minister Seranatne said. " "

It's starting to sound like yet another "inside job."

Kinda like how the NZ shooter sent the details on the mosques to the PM's office before the rampage but the attack happened anyways...

Hey Rose or any forum member with a Muslim belief system, I have been working a bit with an Indian (India) some and he is of course, loosely a Hindu. My understanding is that the two do not like each other a lot as in Muslims and Indians. Is this true?

The problem isn't tribalism, or sectarian strife, or Hindus in India, or intelligence failures. The problem is Islam.

"Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them." Surah 2:191

"Make war on the infidels living in your neighborhood." Surah 9:123

"When opportunity arises, kill the infidels wherever you catch them." Surah 9:5

"Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable." Surah 3:85

"The Jews and the Christians are perverts fight them."... Surah 9:30

"Maim and crucify the infidels if they criticize Islam." Surah 5:33

"Punish the unbelievers with garments of fire, hooked iron rods, boiling water melt their skin and bellies." Surah 22:19

"Muslims must not take the infidels as friends." Surah 3:28

"Terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Qur'an." Surah 8:12

"Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorize the infidels." Surah 8:60
