So I used to practise yoga because of it's benefits to the body, mental health and overall wellness. Right? Oh and of course, meditation, which has all these benefits to the mind, people talked about it like it was something everyone should be doing or else you're just a dumbass. Okay. I always felt so good after a yoga session and a meditating session, it healed my mind, body and soul, guys.

But then I read all about the esoteric parts of these practises, and how meditation and yoga are just part of these new age movements and are being sold to this generation as a way to open a portal to demons and shit. I was of course skeptic I mean there is scientific proof of the benefits of both practises, but upon looking more into it I started to get scared. Confused, overall, bc I didn't know what to think of all the things I was being shown. For instance, Joe Rogan heavily promoted the benefits of these things (as well as drugs but that's for another conversation), and everything he said persuaded me so.

Over time I stopped practicing both bc lack of time and motivation, I wish I still did them but there's always this thing in the back of my brain confused and a little scared of the things I've read. I don't know what's true and what's not, I need advice. What's ur opinion on these things, based on the knowledge you have?

I'm gonna leave my 2 cents here. I'm saying this from my belief (I believe in Jesus as God and Savior) and I hope other Christians who are practicing this would consider what I'm saying here.

Aight~ Talking from my belief (cuz I'm not gonna assume OP having the same religion as I am), no, yoga and meditation aren't gonna help you with depression. You won't get a peace of mind, and instead the spirit of heaviness is what coming. A lovely model from Australia "A.B" took her own life earlier this year because she was battling with depression. She was a vegetarian and into yoga. In the end it didn't help her. This is very sad.

On about the knowledge I have, in a nut shell about the real deal of yoga, I quote Steven Bancarz (ex-new age guru) "The word yoga means union and union refers to the spiritual goal an agenda of yoga the word union they mean is that there is a universal impersonal spirit called Brahman which is this force in the universe and the substance of reality, the substance of the universe. The goal of yoga is to bring your individual self into union with this universal consciousness. This impersonal field of consciousness where you recognize that your personal sense of self, your 'Atman' (as they would call) is ultimately Brahman - ultimately god. It's ultimately an expression of this over soul of the universe and so when you reach this state of consciousness of realizing that they call that Moksha. So the entire goal of yoga is Moksha. A sense of state of being conscious that you are essentially god.

So whats the difference between Yoga and just doing stretching? It's the position of doing yoga, they're meant to honor the sun, the moon, pagan deities, the polytheistic gods of hindusim. It's idolatry. So, when you hit these positions what they're meant to do is invoke the properties or power of these gods. So if you are lets say in a yoga studio there's incense burning, you know the idols up everywhere, you have demonize yoga teacher who knows whats up and then you're in it. When you're in a trance-like state of consciousness, your brainwaves are changing you're an open door. You're more susceptible your defense systems have been brought down and you're opening yourself up to demonic possession, demonic oppression.

People say would you're crazy, cuz hey it's just yoga! Let's talk Kundalini effect in yoga, where people who practice yoga believe they feel this serpent of energy as they'll call it crawling up the base of your spine through your 'chakras' your energy system so your body up to your third eye and then illuminating your third eye and enlightening you but here's the problem you get side effects like migraine, headaches, depression like suicidal, thoughts like sickness and you feel there's people. There are blogs of people asking "I have kundalini effects after doing yoga, I don't feel like I'm alone in my own body anymore. I need help."

The reason why is because you're getting demons and proof of this is in hiduism, there's something called Siddhi. Primary and secondary Siddhi which are meant to be essentially consequences of practicing yoga. When you practice it properly and effective that would be a primary siddhi or secondary siddhi, such as the secondary siddhi would be being able to revisit the past lives of the gods and like in the trance. What they did being able to leave your body and go into another person's body, being able to read another person's mind. So yoga traditions tell us that when yoga is done properly, the way it supposed to be done, you're gonna be able to do things that the bible tells us are only possible with demonic power. You're gonna feel messed up and you're not alone in your body. Then you're gonna need help from people getting deliverance xD. So you know by practicing this, or just simply doing this, you're opening the door for demonic entities.

Please note that you can't seperate it from it's theological spiritual roots, the whole purpose for yoga it's not stretching! It's psycho-spiritual. It's moksha and it's Moksha, It's samsara. It's leaving this cycle of death and rebirth, leaving the cycle of reincarnation and you do that by reaching a certain level of consciousness, a certain state of self-awareness of yourself is the creator and now you no longer have a need to reincarnate. So those are the two goals of yoga. It's not just to go get fit and it's dangerous and it's an open door."

^ words from Steven Bancarz (ex- new age guru)

Also, there is also no such things as "Christian Yoga" or "Holy Yoga", please don't be deceived cuz the root is still the same. It's pagan practicing.

Don't empty your mind like what yoga and instead the bible says in Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

My advice is try to find another exercise that help you having a healthy life. Eat healthy foods, reduce or eliminate (if u can xD) junk foods, exercise regularly. All of these alone won't be complete without having a healthy spiritual relationship with the Almighty God. If you're stressed it's better to close your bedroom door, be alone, and pray to God. It's the most important because no matter how knowledge we are about Bible and Christian doctrines but without a true relationship with God, it's all mundane. (A lot of theologians regret this in their later life, they were pursuing the Truth but they didn't really have a relationship with God, cough, but I super digress here lolololz)

What I do now, I always youtube aerobics and follow personal trainers doing real effective stretching and exercises at home cuz I gained 4 kilos over 3 months.. -_-

I agree with @Allegra here.

I did yoga, even as a Christian, at the gym for years, but never felt right about it. Now I know why.

Also was taught guided visualization at grade school, in yoga, and even in some groups claiming to be Christian. Have repented of all that.

Nope nothing wrong with it. Yoga is just a form of prayer with practical physical benefits. Meditation can be effective for some people in gaining focus and clearing mental hang-ups, that is precisely what prayer is. Admitted or not prayer is just triggering an atavistic response and stimulating the “spiritual” aspects of our brain chemistry as passed on through gene memory and evolution.

It is sometimes argued that yoga is not Hindu per se; only the roots are Hindu. The fact that yoga is pursued by many non-Hindus is irrelevant to its validity as a Hindu practice. The roots of yoga, its scriptural origins, are Hindu. The stem of yoga, its practice, is Hindu; and the flower of yoga, mystical union with God, is Hindu. Yoga, in its full glory, is entirely Hindu. Practice at your own risk!

Try Defranco's Agile 8 if you need to stretch and lift heavy which I found were more beneficial than yoga for stress and depression because of the beneficial hormones and stuff that are released. I did yoga for two years but I didn't enjoy it enough to keep doing it and it and smoking weed did more for my anxiety than yoga ever did so I just quit. Now I continue weight lifting, smoking, and rehabilitative movements for imbalances/flexibility plus weight stretches.

I never felt anything doing yoga positive or negative and my weight lifting wasn't improving but rather hindering it so I pretty much stopped. I wasn't aware of the spiritual aspects during the time I did but overall it was a waste of time that didn't fix my shoulders or hips.

Yoga is good for coordination and flexibility. I have water retention and yoga helps activate the circulation. I do vinyasa yoga and I never felt weird afterwards. Adding yoga to my workout routine has only been beneficial so far.

I did some research and here is what I found:

VC made and article abt that Aleister Crowley being a satanist so maybe there is more to it.

I also found out that Krishna Pattabhi Jois, the indian who invented Ashtanga yoga and played a big part in spreading yoga accross the world had the likes of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow as his disciples. (link)

He was an hinduist. He's been accused of assaulting multiple women (link)

Crowley was a Satanist. But he didn't really have anything to do with the spread of Yoga in the West. Of course it's possible to take some spiritual techniques and twist them a little for egoistic purposes...

What type of Yoga? the word has become so bastardized.

In the West people associate that word with a certain kind of fitness center stretching exercises. Yoga is a lot of things.

I have completely zero answers to your OP because you specified nothing. As I've already seen the responses in this thread are followed by people inserting their own imagination onto whatever mysterious, undescribed thing you could possibly be alluding to.

Yoga is a Hindu tradition of body and mind practices. Once you speak about practices that have similarities within different cultural and religious constructs, then you are no longer talking about Yoga but rather something else.

Im glad i found this thread so i dont have to make one lol

People already chimed in with their thoughts about yoga, but here's an article about the dangers of meditation. It's the story of a young woman named Megan who ended up comitting suicide following a psychotic breakdown of sorts during a meditation retreat. Article discusses the high incidence of adverse effects of meditation which are not discussed or warned about.

Article is free (and long) but paywalls after a couple views, so copy paste if you want to reread.

...Megan felt an exquisite serenity unlike any she had ever known. Tears came to her eyes. "I was so happy. I finally knew my place in the world. I was a child of the earth and I needed to share my joy."

But hours later, Megan's bliss dissipated. She became tired, then drained...She felt heavy, responsible for everything that was wrong in the world...A surge of "immense fear" coursed through her body and she found herself panicking, unable to move. "I can't remember where I am. Who I am. What I'm doing here." Then a torrent of dark thoughts came rushing in: is it the end of the world? Am I dying? Why can't I function or move?...

...
Buddhist meditation, which began as a practice among renunciants living in monasteries, hermitages and caves in the 5th century BC is now a part of mainstream American culture. Countless books, magazine articles, You Tube videos, apps, and corporate wellness programs celebrate its benefits to our cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being. The market for meditation products and services in the United States is valued at $1.2 billion.
...
Although there is date supporting the positive effects of meditation, the scientific literature is murkier than some champions of the practice would like to believe, and the possibility of negative outcomes cannot be so easily dismissed.
...
One case study, from 2007, documented a 24 year old male who had slipped into a "short-lasting acute psychotic state" during an unguided and intense meditation session. He was referred to clinicians following the onset of "an acute sensation of being mentally split". He saw vivid colors, hallucinated, and was overcome with severe anxiety. At the height of the episode he was tormented by "delusional convictions that he had caused the end of the world" and talked of suicide.
...
Most studies don't monitor for negative reactions, relying on participants to report them spontaneously. But the research that does exist is not reassuring. More than 50 published studies have documentend meditation-induced mental health problems, including mania, dissociation and psychosis. In 2012, leading meditation researchers in the UK published a set of guidelines for meditation instructors noting "risks for participants" including depression, traumatic flashbacks, and increased suicide ideation.
...

Some clinicians believe that meditation can cause psychological problems in people without underlying conditions, and that even 40 minutes of meditation per day can pose risks.
...
In the emergency room, Megan repeated over and over, "I did something terrible, I did something terrible. I killed the universe." According to hospital records, Megan appeared "disheveled and unkempt" and seemed to be "responding to internal stimuli." Beyond her psychological distress, whatever was ailing her was also causing a physical reaction: her stomach churned, and she was both cold and perspiring. She was tested for drugs and infections that could cauze psychosis; everything came back negative.
...
Jordan scoured the internet for some clue as to what was happening to her sister. "My sister entered into a meditation-induced psychotic state this week and I am searching for help," she wrote. Jordan asked for her message to be relayed to the group's facilitator, a clinical psychologist amd neuroscientist at Brown named Willoughby Britton, who has become one of the foremost advocates of the view that meditation can be harmful even for people wihout underlying psychiatric disorders.

Britton has started out as an avid meditator, but as a graduate student she made an unexpected discovery. She conducted a study to determine the effects of regular meditation on sleep quality...Compared with an 8 person control group, the subjects who meditated for more than 30 minutes per day experienced shallower sleep and woke up more often during the night. The more participants reported meditating, the worse their sleep became.

Britton's sample size was small, but other researchers have also documented this apparent paradox - positive self-reports with negative outcomes...Participants who had meditated reported feeling less stressed immediately after the interview, but their levels of cortisol - the fight-or-flight hormone - were significantly higher than the control group. They had become more sensitive, not less, to stressful stimuli, but believing and expecting that meditattion reduced stress, they gave self-reports that contradicted the data.

Until the sleep study, Britton had been, in her own words, an evangelist for meditation...On a meditation retreat she told one of her instructors about her research. "The teacher kind of chastised me 'why are you therapists always trying to make meditation a relaxation technique? That's not what it's there for. Everyone knows if you meditate enough you stop sleeping.' "
...
"Every meditation center we went to had at least a dozen horror stories," she said. Psychotic breaks and cognitive impairments were common; they were often temporary but sometimes lasted years.
...
In 2017, Britton and her team published their findings in PLOS One, a prominent scientific journal. The report presented a taxonomy of "meditation related difficulties", including anxiety and panic, traumatic flashbacks, visual and auditory hallucinations loss of conceptual meaning structures, non-referential fear, affective flattening, involuntary movements, and distressing chnages im feelings of self. ... For Britton, the takeaway was that adverse effects routinely occur even under optimal conditions, with healthy people.
...
The Buddhist ascetics who took up meditation in the 5th century BC did nlt view it as a form of stress relief. "These contemplative practices were invented for monastics who had renounced possessions, social position, wealth, family, comfort, amd work," writes David McMahan, a professor of religious studies... In the Pali suttas, the earliest Buddhist texts, the Buddha discusses meditation almost exclusively eith audiences of followers reasy to reject their earthly belongings. "Generally meditation is presented as something monastics aspiring to full awakening do, an activity that is part of a way of being in the world that is ultimately aimed at exiting the world, rather than a means to a happier, more fulfilling life within it."

In other words, mindfulness was not invoked to savor the beauty of nature or to be a more present, thoughtful spouse. The point of meditation was to cultivate disgust and disenchantment with the everyday world and one's attachments to people and things. .. If meditation conferred any physical benefit, it was in helping ascetics "accept the discomfort of a hard bed and a growling stomach or in preventing them from being beguiked by physical beauty."
...
Reports of disturbing experiences during meditation appear in a number of early Buddhist writings. In the Theravada tradition, meditators are said to experience "corruptions of insight" that, from the vantage of modern clinical psychology, resemble psychosomatic ailments, imcluding manic bliss states, gastroinstestinal issues, and visual hallucinations. Monks in the Zen tradition may encounter "diabolical phenomena" which are characterized by involuntary movemens and frightening mental imagery.
...
Back at home, Megan continued to meditate, often for hours at a stretch, oscillating between lethargy and panic...Megan had always kept a tidy journal, but now her writing became compulsive. She scribbled her most personal thoughts on whatever happened to be around.
"The world will go on without you. It's been around for 6 billion years. Stop being so selfish"
"I'm afraid my energy is going to hurt everyone else."
"I can't stay inside of the lines. I can't stay inside of the lines."
On the morning of June 6, 2017, Megan told her parents she was going for a walk in the park...That morning, as soon as Megan drove away, he got a bad feeling...In her truck, Megan had left a note for her family: "I couldn't keep running from what was supposed to have happened. If you get a chance to die - take it."

...
Today, the luminaries of mainstream Buddhism widely promote meditation to laypeople, and refuse to acknowledge it carries any risks...Britton's more radical conclusions are also met with skepticism in some corners of mainstream psychiatry.
...
Britton's research was bolstered last August when the journal Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica published s systematic review of adverse events in meditation practices and meditation-based therapies. 65% of the studies included in the review found adverse effects. "We found that the occurence of adverse effects is not uncommon, and may occur in individuals with no previous history of mental health problems."
This article is mostly from secular/medical standpoint, but from a more religious standpoint, i think it also opens the door to demonic possesion or tormenting.

In the past, about a decade ago, before becoming a Christian, i experimented with meditation. I experienced first hand the "involuntary" full body movements as i sat in a trance like state having a strange colorful vision. I experienced the energy vortex feelings in my body. I felt the feelings of dissasociation and unattachment, of just wanted to stop existing, of wanting to escape reality. Thankfully i did not do this activity as often as this young woman did, or who knows what would have happened.

This is some dangerous stuff to be messing around with. It is not harmless. No wonder the elites are promoting it.

It's great to have a thread about this. There are so many dangers associated with yoga and meditation that nobody pays any attention to, and most of the time they are just oblivious. The post above from Toxic just shows how bad meditation is for the psyche, and it's disgusting how much this stuff is portrayed and shown throughout so many get well courses for mental health.
There's so many reasons to why these things are constantly promoted and shoved down people's throats by the top satanists. They want demons to enter our lives. They want us to be influenced by them. By doing both yoga and meditation, this allows that to happen. Just the fact that yoga originated from the Hindu culture alone is a warning signal. And then they made it popular in the western civilization. They only did this to mess with people's minds, and get so many to practice it. I know for sure some men practice it, but it's way more common with women, because they mind control them, selling the narrative that doing these things will make them "healthier" and thinner. Most women who do yoga, especially, do it to be thin, oh, and bendy, so that the man can appreciate their movements in the bedroom.. ahem...
