It's the name of Jesus that offends them, and not any perceived insult to any other faith. My dad was a police chaplain until he retired, and when he was called on to offer a prayer at meetings or other occasions, he would often be asked not to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, as it might offend other faiths. He would just ignore them.

It's considered Islamophobic to pray to Jesus.. Wha..how.. Well, what do you even say? Guess we can turn it around then and say its christofobic to pray to Allah considering how any christians are having their heads chopped off for their believes, worldwide.
Double standards man. Seriously, why does the left always pick Islam though? How do we know this isn't Judeophobic or Hindu-phobic or likewise offensive to any other religion?

Do I! They don't even make an effort to hide it. I wonder if it has something to do with the idea that Christianity is "the white man's religion," at least in America. Everyone thinks I'm Buddhist because of my ethnicity lol.

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in my church, white people are the minority.

You're welcome Vixy ;):)

Just another dumb way to divide people. When people have respect for other people's religion or beliefs, there's no such thing as phobia or intolerance. People now a days feel offended about everything!!

I think youre right. This is a racial thing and about racism of the white race just like many other things. As a caucasian we are supposed to feel white guilt and conform to what other races want bc of history but in fact white men werent the bigget slave buyers, it was the arabic race. However we are paying the price.

So part racial part it being Jesus. Those of you who are religious know that its a war on a higher plane than just earth and so ofc jesus is the "big enemy" of this kind of hatred against good and righeousness. Thats why other religions arent attacked.

Yeah and the crazy thing I've noticed is that its mostly white people pushing the whole white hate agenda. Its kinda pathetic tbh. Like, what the heck? Have you no shame? Seems to be worse in Europe sadly (especially the Nordic countries). But I totally agree. We have to stand strong because its only gonna get worse from now.

YES! It's like that with the left here. Young people, mostly women teach our immigrants "Theyre racist" Everything's racist. Theyre completely obsessed and insane about it.

Now our farmers are getting attacked by the left aswell bc of them selling meat and milk. See the elft is vegan and do not approove and that means they think everyone else should conform. I've heard they're paied to attack and threaten (one even laied down on the ground so the truck with cows going for slaughter shouldnt be able to pass) the farmers bc the big industries want them out. Thats why we had the drought last summer aswell, to dry their crops out and make them go bankrupt.

This is EVIL. ANTIFA is pure EVIL.

I started looking into the situation in Europe and although both sides are prone to exageration, it’s obvious the left is trying really hard to hide the truth about how bad it actually is. It’s so sickening and enraging I had to stop looking into it. And it’s scary how much people underestimate antifa. I mean, yeah all we seem to see are crazy people and losers but maybe that’s what they want people to think??

That article is blatantly false and alarmist propaganda. It doesn't give any accurate context on the situation. Christian prayer is not and has never been labeled as Islamophobic and no one is saying that it is.

What actually happened in this specific situation is that on March 25th, Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell, the first Muslim woman to join the Pennsylvania house of representatives was being sworn in to the house. Directly before this Muslim woman was sworn in, Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (a Christian) decided to say a prayer where she said things like "God forgive us — Jesus — we’ve lost sight of you, we’ve forgotten you"... Keep in mind that this is directly before a non-Christian person was supposed to be sworn in.

People obviously interpreted this as somewhat hostile towards other religions, specifically Muslims since a Muslim was about to be sworn in. It kind of seems like Rep. Borowicz is saying that this country has "forgotten Jesus" and needs to be "forgiven" specifically because a Muslim was becoming a representative instead of a Christian. And according to a Times article on this incident, Rep. Borowicz "mentioned 'Jesus' 13 times, 'God' six times and 'Lord' four times. She also heralded President Donald Trump in the prayer over his support for Israel". What this shows is that her prayer was definitely meant to be a political statement and it was aimed towards Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell in a way that was supposed to tarnish her achievement as the first Muslim representative. Rep. Borowicz made it all about herself and her own religion in a somewhat disrespectful way towards the audience which had many Muslims in it.

During her prayer Rep. Borowicz also said “At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess, Jesus, that you are Lord". The article points out that: "the verse 'every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess' is often cited by Christians who argue that Christianity is the one true faith". Plus we all know that many evangelicals don't think that Muslims share the same God as a part of the abrahamic religions. So there's no way around this being a blatantly hostile statement in the context of that situation.

It's supposedly a common thing for the Pennsylvania House to open sessions with prayers and prayers from all religions are allowed to be made but they are supposed to be respectful of everyone's faiths. The chamber's normal protocol calls for an interfaith and respectful invocation... Borowicz didn't follow that and she was definitely not being respectful in her intentions with the prayer she made. Christian prayers are made every day and no one has a problem with that. The problem in this situation was not that a Christian prayed to Jesus... it's that Rep. Borowicz made a thinly veiled hostile political statement against the first Muslim woman who was being sworn in.

Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell responded to this situation by saying: "It was directly a political statement, and I think we need to be very, very clear that everybody in this House matters, whether they’re Christian, Muslim or Jew, and that we cannot use these issues to tear each other down. And not only that, it was made during my swearing in".

Regardless of whether you think the prayer was meant to be hostile towards Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell or not, no one has ever said that a Christian prayer is inherently anti-Muslim. People have labeled Rep. Stephanie Borowicz specific actions in this situation as insensitive and politically motivated but no one has ever said that Christians can't pray to Jesus in a positive and peaceful way. You are free to pray to Jesus as a Christian, no one has ever said anything different. You're not oppressed as a Christian in this country.

...and there came the leftards. :D Always just one step away, lol!

@fire_009flyer Yesterday ANTIFA blew up one of the rights polititians house. They placed a bomb by his door and his children were upstairs sleeping when it went off blowing out their windows and a hole in the door. He woke up immediately due to the loud blow and went down and looked for the cowards but never found them. Police wont do anything as usual.

Antifa are EVIL. Theyre so fascist I cant even begin to exlain. Its either you believe left, or they take you down by violence, like the demons they are. TRUE fascism and gaging the people. Luckily Swedes see through this and we now have a party that wants the imigrants out as the third largest party and it keeps growing bigger so they will eventually win. People are sick and tired of this extreme crime, violence and verbal abuse. Swedes are taking sweden BACK! Just like Germany is taking theirs back by a party thatfeels the same. This has sarted in Denmark aswell. Denmark just banned the burqa, thank GOD!

Yes, I can't understand why people refuse to accept this! What about being pc is so important that you ignore what's happening in your country? You gotta pick a side now, there's no grey area anymore. Doesn't mean you have to be "extreme" or whatever, its either you condone fascism or don't by ACTIONS and WORDS.

How generous!

But you just said, yourself, by implication, that this verse from the bible was "hostile"...

At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess, Jesus, that you are Lord".
Muslims on this site often point out that they call Jesus the Messiah... soo we must wonder-- what is the problem?

I already gave my reasoning in the post:
The article points out that: "the verse 'every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess' is often cited by Christians who argue that Christianity is the one true faith". Plus we all know that many evangelicals don't think that Muslims share the same God as a part of the abrahamic religions. I was specifically referring to the context of the situation I described... which is the swearing in of the first Muslim woman to the Pennsylvania House. It's certainly possible for that verse to be cited in a non-hostile and inclusive way but that wasn't necessarily the case in this particular situation.

Plus you're overlooking my main point which was this:

Again... how generous that you permit Christians to pray. I addressed that point already. If you believed that, though, you wouldn't have a problem with the quotation of a bible verse, based on this authors perception and suggestion of what "some Christians really mean when they say it." If islam followed the same God, there would not have been an issue, in the first place, because the two would be in agreement. Even in this context.
