Evil Songs

We all know... or should know... the music industry is evil. Is there any such thing as an evil song?

Of course there is! If one can't grasp such things, it's like them not knowing arithmetic. You can dispute arithmetic all you like but... you continue that way, you will never learn the higher mathematics!

Now. Moving beyond the basic arithmetical precept.... what are some evil songs?

I don't want to hear the actual song. I would you to explain to me why the song is evil. You've read Vigilant Citizen articles. Now you be VC! But I would prefer lyrical analysis than pictures.... but go as you like.

Ahem.

Let us now examine two songs which may appear innocent... but are positively Satanic!

I will start with the one that I think is slightly less evil. The really horrifying is the second.

The first is "Happy" by Pharell. Of course, this is... not so effective. The song is very repetitive, annoying, shallow and I think you have to be.... kinda dumb.... to be into the song. It's a dumb song.

But anyways, being annoying and repetitive and dumb is all pretty wicked but why is the song Satanic?

Well it assumes you're dumb because... the song is dumb... but proceeding on the assumption you're an idiot (apparently pop music is geared for idiots..... heh... I just ooooze un-PC energy... it's a free state of being).... the song tries to function as an opiate of the masses. "Love your servitude" is the hidden message of the song. And denial of God as well, denial of the Absolute.

The song promotes for you to accept that "happiness is the truth". So subjective feeling substitutes for objective truth- this is propaganda of relativism, thus implicitly anti-God- for God is Absolute and Objective. Anything that tries to promote truth being relative is Satanic... it's trying to get you to sin and become more like an animal. The whole basis of the necessary jihad you must wage against desire is that you are fighting for something. If you remove that certainty, you remove the backbone of your will to resist temptation and become a slave to sin. So the song is promoting your enslavement. You have to be dumb to like it, imo.

But that song isn't so evil compared to this next one.

This one is geared for gullible women.... and not all women are gullible.... but the target audience of this song is gullible women.

The song is called "Unwritten" by... I believe her name is Natasha Bedingfield.... I remember this one being a big hit I think around like 2005.... I heard it today being played.

This song.... is very seductive, very beautiful.

Musically, it's gorgeous and the woman's voice is cute and attractive.

And the song sounds like an inspirational anthem. You catch the spirit, you vibe.... you "jam"..... you "vibe" to this song, you lose yourself in this song and I am convinced that Satan starts cackling.

Because this song appears very innocent but it is anti-God propaganda. Some of you are denying this as you read, I'm sure- but it's true nonetheless.

One of the.... I believe it is one of the five pillars of Islam if I am not mistaken... but it is one of the most sacred foundations of Islam- is the belief in Qadr, in Divine predestination.

The pillar of this song is denial of Divine Predestination! The song is beautiful on the surface but Satanic in its heart! You may hear it and picture the woman as having a beautiful face but considering the message should warp her face and turn it ugly.

The whole song is about denying Qadr!

And she very cooingly... very seductively sings "I break tradition".... as though it is so innocent.... then she orders as some sort of climax "release your inhibitions!"

"break tradition" and "release your inhibitions"?

Let's be real. She's telling you to commit sexual sins. "Break tradition" and "release your inhibitions" if you're unmarried means commiting premarital sex. If you're married, it means committing adultery. And it can mean anything.

It means turn your back on your religion and follow your lusts and desires. That song is horrifyingly evil. And she is taking glee as she sings it, as she incites you to commit sin and abandon your religion!

May God forgive my sins and may God guide me and may God guide all reading.

^ Okay...Well, like the title says it's the March of Mephisto (short from Mephistopheles: mêp̄îṣ'/destroyer and tōp̄el/liar) and so it's written from the perspective of the one & only. They made a whole album (loosely) inspired by Faust, or more than one, I'm too lazy to check.
It's basically about praying on people's weaknesses and leading them to their doom.

Honestly, I used to love this song. The way Roy Khan sings it, sounded sooo seductive to me, especially when he sang "Chase the heathen call, We belong... You and I, Unison in all you deny". Ahh, these verses used to be spellbinding to me, his timbre, his inflections, I was completely mesmerized (given who he's supposed to be portraying I realize that was probably the intention in the first place, but still...wooh)
Just for the record, I don't have a thing for the singer or anything, it's just this one song.


I think that the whole Latin thing is for mostly for effect, to grab the attention of your average metal fan. I'm not great with Latin so don't quote me on this, but I don't think it's entirely correct. Anyway...

^ I used to kind of sympathize with the above because I find this world's obsession with romantic love exasperating. I used to loathe hearing people complain about love problems. Maybe if people wouldn't expect my empathy for their 'harrowing' relationship problems, given that it takes two to tango, I wouldn't have found any contempt in me for these situations, but since I'm a woman, it's expected of me to empathize with this silliness

It all goes back to pride doesn't it? Lucifer fell because of his pride, Eve fell because of her pride, pride blinds you from recognizing your mistakes, keeps you from regretting any wrongdoings, from making amends. As long as you have even a wisp of pride, you can't truly repent of your sins and if you don't turn back from them you'll repeat them ad infinitum. It's hard to eliminate it completely, it's slithers in if you're not vigilant and consumes you so quickly and easily. One spore is more than enough

This one is fairly obvious, yet I just recently caught it. I grew up with this band, but now I must evaluate their songs.

Wow, I liked a song glorifying fornication growing up. Didn’t even know what fornication was at that age. It took me awhile as a preteen to realize what Van Halen’s For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album stood for. It says it all there in the title.

You are from a different generation. I was born early 90's.

I don't really know Supertramp but.... Van Halen......... I think the one that was really bad was AC/DC.

AC/DC put out stuff that I think was blatantly satanic.

I can't really find Van Halen shocking.... I know for older people that may have been shocking but......... compared to the rap music I grew up hearing, Van Halen doesn't really sound shocking.......

however, they have to scale it up gradually...... like nowadays you have super blatant Satanism....... in those days you'd have lyrics like "running with the devil" or "highway to hell"....... but what was shocking at that time isn't as shocking now..... they gradually raise the intensity

Although analysing lyrical content can often reveal the dark workings of this industry you must bear in mind that lyrics are also subjective and are absorbed by the listener in different.ways dependant on our emotional state. They are open to interpretation and we all interpret things differently (proved conclusively in religious threads on this forum)

There are songs however which stand out. They stand out because they blatantly sell depravity to the consumer, in it's rawest and most disgusting form. This is the epitome of evil because it exposes kids to words and images which if uttered out loud face to face to a child would.land you with a jail term...and rightly so.

Now I 'm not.going to analyse the lyrics because I don't need to but I will give you a warning because YouTube's little blue age restricted video warning is not scary enough.for young inquisitive minds.

There was a child in that video. Why do you think there was a child in that video? Just think about the depraved mind who wanted to feature a child in that stomach churning vile video.

Are lyrics subjective?

I don't think we can just say lyrics are subjective so casually.

I think there are entire books arguing both sides of such an argument. I mean this is a huge philosophical debate over... I believe it's called textual criticism.

Take any "text"- the Quran, the Bible, for example.

Does the Quran have an objective interpretation? Is there any objective interpretation or does the Quran not have an objective interpretation?

I would have to say texts do have an objective interpretation.

Your post is a text, my post is a text, lyrics are a text.

Now if we argue whether the Bible has an objective interpretation- the writers aren't here to jump up and say "this is what I meant!"- so the Bible might appear as though it lacks an objective interpretation for that reason. We can't just send Paul an email and ask him what he meant in a particular verse.

However, I was in a discussion over what was meant in one of my posts. I immediately knew exactly what the post meant. I didn't have to think about it.

You know what your posts mean. Wouldn't it be ridiculous were I argue with you over what your post meant (unless I had some very good reason like you changed your position and were now trying to lie about what you meant)?

So when we say things- we generally what we mean when we say things. We might hear a song and be not exactly sure what was meant..... but I'm pretty sure the artist generally knows what is meant. The artist might not come out and say it, in order to let the fans make up their own interpretations. If the fan has their own interpretation and finds out what was really meant- the fan might not like the song and so the artist might deliberately use vague lyrics or might deliberately avoid revealing the real meaning- in order to keep the fan support. Plus the artist might want to create an air of mystery.

To take a very fun example, look at Salvador Dali paintings, for example. If you look at his paintings, it might appear as though what he paints is random...... however, I do not think this is the case at all. I think all of the images have meaning- objective meaning.

The same with lyrics. To us on the outside it may seem as though the lyrics have no objective interpretation- however, I don't think it would ever occur to us to believe that our posts that we ourselves write have no objective meaning. In this way, we can know that texts do have objective meaning. We have to go into the mind of the author. We have to really imagine ourselves in the author's shoes and we have to learn their biography. If we do that, the more we do that, I think the more we'll be able to access the correction interpretation of texts.

I loved Florence + the Machine's Never Let Me Go, but its clearly a spiritual song and i can't listen to it again because it conveys this idea of giving up and giving in. Van Halen. That band I've heard of called Supertramp.

You are from a different generation. I was born early 90's.

I don't really know Supertramp but.... Van Halen......... I think the one that was really bad was AC/DC.

AC/DC put out stuff that I think was blatantly satanic.

I can't really find Van Halen shocking.... I know for older people that may have been shocking but......... compared to the rap music I grew up hearing, Van Halen doesn't really sound shocking.......

however, they have to scale it up gradually...... like nowadays you have super blatant Satanism....... in those days you'd have lyrics like "running with the devil" or "highway to hell"....... but what was shocking at that time isn't as shocking now..... they gradually raise the intensity

Yeah, I'm old. Ha ha. I'm in my early 40s. Born in the late 70s and my dad exposed me to a lot of classic rock from the 60s, 70s and 80s. I'm probably more of an 80s baby.

Chris Stapleton's Broken Halos gave me chills too. I like the song and he said he wrote it about his (best?)friend who passed on before their time, from cancer. Not saying he is bad man or that he has skeletons in his closet but it just made wonder if it was about "a collection" with a layered meaning. Halos denote purity, innocence and or divinity and a broken halo/wing means a loss of the aforementioned. We've all heard or read stories about people who do bad things and immortalize their remorse or pay tribute to their victims in song or literature. Hollywood's pederasts and pedophiles have certainly broken many halos/wings.

Your mentioning of halos reminded me of this song by The Script. The Script was most famous for "Breakeven" which has the line "Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in". I still liked them though. "Rusty Halo" seems to be about running from God, in my opinion, and trying to shine your halo by yourself.

I've been thinking a lot about songs and song lyrics and thanks @Etagloc for this topic. I agree with you that textual or textural analysis is worthwhile. Hey, they taught it to literature majors in college and in graduate school. It appears that most music is about sex, drugs and other subversion.

So I was listening to my iPod while doing some tasks and came across several songs I like, but that have given me pause and now from starting to analyze them, further give me pause. Won't quote the whole songs for time and attention span's sake.

Here's one by Zero 7 that is incredibly catchy. Yet it's perverted.

Darn that catchy song! I'm pretty sure it's all about sex or masturbation in addition to casting spells. Being a literature major should've prepared me to see this since I got to learn what a plagiarizing pervert Shakespeare could be, but I still love his work even if he stole from everyone. He made it his own, right? Nobody remembers the other guys unless they really researched Shakespeare and his influences, his contemporaries.

Edited: after cooking dinner and thinking about "Mr. McGee" by Zero 7, I also see the similarities between that song and Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The human couples Lysander and Hermia, Demetrius and Helena are at the whims of Theseus, Hippolyta and Puck. Thanks to the faerie dust, Demetrius finally gives Helena what she wants, which is himself. She no longer has to say "spurn me, as your spaniel." Oh, girlfriend, a man who's mean to dogs would be mean to you.

Snow Patrol--one of my very favorite bands--maybe has a dark side. But nah, I think this is more about a codependent relationship since he wants to leave, but feels trapped. But he probably contemplates doing dark things. But then I really like Snow Patrol. I don't want to see anything wrong with them. However, in "Lifeboats" the line "There's no truth at all/Poking at the giant eyes of ancient gods" bothers me.
