That's true and it's always wise to check the original text if doing a Bible study.

There is no time left nitpicking the Bible for minor translation errors.
I'm not nitpicking but you can not claim "inerrant and infallible" when there are errors. You don't seem to be saying that so, uh kudos?

Translation errors doesn't make them bible errors...

And seeing that it was pleasing to the Jews, he added also to seize Peter (and they were the days of Unleavened Bread
I posted three links that are far more than translation errors, and again if you claim "inerrant and infallible" than a translation error is still an error.

This is the problem, when it is stated that the Bible is inerrant and infallible, but easily proven that it is not, no one with any sense will take anything you have to say seriously. Fundamentalism is the #1 reason for the decline of Christianity in the west.

I actually checked out all of them. For those who distrust the bible it's good enough. Mustard seed isn't the smallest, incest have more legs...Blah blah that takes away nothing from the bible. It's only sad that point of the parable can be lost because of pathetic nitpicking...I could explain some of so called contradictions, but im no scholar or researcher and that is saying something because some of those are worst cases of nitpicking i ever seen. While numeric errors are real, i skip detailed descriptions when i read bible myself, as i do with any book i read, so i won't bother with those.

To answer your question as history book bible has flaws (minor and human made) as book which show us road to God and helps to know him it's perfect..

My age, indeed?! ;-p

Both languages are alphanumeric - they use the letters as numbers as well. What becomes fascinating is when the hidden numeric value of the words reinforces and adds layers of meaning to the plain text. For those who doubt the hand of God in the text of the Bible, this study is an eye opener!!!

Typical response to bury the head in the sand. I’m not the one who made the standard of inerrant and infallible. That belief collapses under the slightest scrutiny and all you can do is downplay it.

The true meaning of scripture is lost not by my “nitpicking” but by literal interpretation itself.

The Goalposts for “inerrancy” are always moved by the fundie once confronted with the truth.

It's not downplaying it. It's something different, our focus is on different things, bible is considered written by people inspired by holy spirit, for those who personally know what that means, this says a lot. Holy spirit doesn't make people infallible hence the errors. But there is a connection, real living connection between a book and a person with holy spirit reading it. You can call us schizophrenics or what not it is true for every believer. That is why bible is called holy. Mistakes which do exist doesn't prove what you think it does for a believer...It doesn't make bible unreliable.

You can choose to believe that Jesus didn't knew that mustard seed isn't the smallest one . I can choose to believe he picked example best suited for audience He had. Your scrutiny can be scrutinized too and it will do worse than bible itself.
Btw literal interpretation is oxymoron :)

The only thing it proves is that the Bible is not a science manual or an accurate account of history. It is inspired when viewed allegorically. You can bring up some of the more minor examples but let’s go with something bigger. The Earth is not flat and the Sun does not revolve around the Earth.

I can see this makes you uncomfortable, it doesn’t make me feel that way because Biblical Errors and contradictions change nothing other than how it should be viewed. It doesn’t change it’s truth and I don’t have to contort reality to fit my preconceived notions. I don’t have to deny science and objective reality.

If only you bother to apply same critical thinking to science you apply to bible...But i agree bible shouldn't be used as scientific manual. It's accurate account of (Israel) religious history though couple minor mistakes means nothing in bigger picture. There are mistakes of how much family members certain family had 4 thousand years ago ? Lets dismiss all OT because of it ? Oh please...

I personally believe earth is flat and sun revolve around earth, but thats just me and we can leave bible out of it. Because it's arguable if bible supports it.
Why do you think it makes me feel uncomfortable lol ? Objective reality is what makes me believe earth is flat... As for science itself, there is theoretical science which for ages was a tool for deception. And there is a practical science which is not that popular, probably because it's hard to use it as brainwashing tool.

And people wonder why nobody takes religious fundamentalists seriously? You're using a computer, probably a phone, which uses quantum physics principles to work and GPS technology, which is BASED on the fact that the Earth is a sphere...really now, you can try to dismiss reality but don"t try to convince us of this flat Earth nonsense when arguing for the "truth" that the Bible is inspired by any kind of "holy spirit" which is divine and perfect.

That is your opinion only that it is "holy."

Islam is the worship of the ILLUMINATI
As a non-Muslim, I have to disagree. Muslims are often devout folk who believe steadfastly that God is to be worshipped in the way prescribed by Muhammad. I may have many points of disagreement with Islam but I doubt it buys into the kind of "apotheosis" promoted by Sophia and the Archons.

The name "@grateful servant " illustrates the relationship Muslims aspire to have with Allah, not quite the Kanye West "I am a god" stuff.

once you figure out the numbers stuff..all the numbers in mainstream Islam point to the ILLUMINATI
for example

69 21 21 21 21 69

By the same token you might conclude that Christians worship Ishtar (Easter) or Satan (from Saturn in Saturnalia) at Christmas.

We really don't, btw...
