Hello yannick
Assalamu alaikum good to see thee.
What's with your avatar?
I say this because you are not easily offended and I respect you.
This doesn't quite coalesce with your (many times) thought provoking messages.;):p
Hello and Peace be upon you too! It's nothing but a glimpse of affection! Thanks for your respect which I know is not something easily earned! :)

Let me rephrase it. I meant that the title sounds like an old 1950s commercial. You know like those old educational shorts.
I know what you're talking about. I always think of that fish on spongebob who delivers the news. Very 1950s-ish lol.

I ate bacon this morning too. :/

You're free to be pescatarian but I definitely think pork is particularly bad. Other types of meat are much safer and are approved by God.

Even the Old Testament prohibits pork.
All the Abrahamic religions, as codes of conduct imposed in ancient times on highly uneducated peoples, prohibit pork as a policy of public health. Swine requires careful preparation as it's prone to being laden with parasites transferable to humans that have to be killed in the cooking. In ancient days, when people knew fuck-all about parasites, bacteria, and safe meat preparation, pork and the eating of it would have been a constant source of illness. Thus religion forbids the eating of pork, often forbids the eating of shellfish (another meat difficult to safely prepare) and even- in the case if Islam and Judaism at least- includes a pretty thorough policy on proper meat preparation.

Hey Mr. Grieves
I like your name
Because I often like to grieve myself
For the innocents who are being butchered everyday
Anyway, I just feel it is a great thing to be able to feel, farewell

I am free to be pescatarian but you don’t see me posting a video full of misinformation to prove that my lifestyle is better. It makes sense for pigs to be declared unclean in the time of OT. The world wasn’t as sanitary, good at preservation, or aware of microbes and how to deal with them. We live in a very advanced society you aren’t impure physically or spiritually from eating certain foods. If you’re concerned with your health you should avoid meat altogether unless you know the source.
“When He had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand: There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!” When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable. So He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?”“And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:14-19-23‬
Be concerned with what comes out of your heart not with what you put in your stomach.
When Christ said that, he was referring to the Pharisees coming down on his disciples for eating with unwashed hands. This is one of the most misused scriptures. God calls it a sin to eat unclean animals, then sends His son for us to be baptized for the remission of sins. To be cleaned of them, not to be cleaned and then CONTINUE to sin.

1 John 3:4 King James Version (KJV)
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

That verse is in the NT. If sin is a transgression of the law, where can we find the law? in the OT. Some sins we can't help (like working on the Sabbath, some people can't make their own schedules and we have families to feed. That's when grace comes in. Or when we sin unknowingly.). But we can all decide to choose beef or turkey instead of pork when we go to eat.

The disciples were confused too when Christ said this, which is why they asked him later what he meant. This is what Christ said:

Matthew 15:19-20 King James Version (KJV)
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

God made animals with different functions or purpose. Some are them are not meant to be eaten.

Jesus fulfilled all of the law. What do you think of Romans 14?
Paul isn't telling anyone to break the commandments and do/eat what you want. This is what I don't understand about Christians...what sets you apart from the world/nonbelievers if you can do anything you want? God is a God of order. What law sets you apart from wickedness? how do you know what is good and bad without a law?

Romans 7:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

Paul is saying he wouldn't have known sin without the law. The law taught him what not to do. Example, we all lived a life a sin before following Christ. When we become aware of what was wrong, we became accountable. Hence, "without the law, sin was dead", because we didn't know or care that we were sinning. But as Paul says...Is the law sin? God forbid.

Why do Christians hate the law? I don't get it. Don't you want to walk a righteous path? Without it, we are lawless, no less than brute beasts. Is it just the law? No, because you can't be a Pharisee. You must have the spirit of the law. There is no law against the fruits of the spirit.

Romans 2:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another

Hebrews 10:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

I can go so much into Romans 14. But I will say this: Paul is talking about not being a stumbling block to your brothers/sisters of the body of Christ. This verse:

Romans 14:2 King James Version (KJV)
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

Is not saying you can eat anything you want, but you can eat anything within the law. Paul was a Pharisee of Pharisees, he knew the law. Eating anything outside of it never crossed his mind. His focus is on those saying not to eat meat AT ALL (the Essenes for example. There were many different doctrines during Christ's time. This is what Paul was addressing). You have to rightly divide scripture.

Would Paul and the disciples go against Christ? Because this is what Christ said in his own words:

Matthew 5:17-18
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Wouldn't doing away with the law be the same as destroying it?? 'Fulfill' and 'destroy' are opposites in this verse. Christ said THINK NOT that he came to destroy the law, because he knew in future that's what people would do. Fulfilling the law is showing us how it's done, the spirit of the law, and that's it is possible to do, because Christ never sinned while on earth. He is the way, the truth and the life after all. Furthermore, has heaven and earth passed?? I think not.

Please Christians understand, CHRIST DOESN'T CONDONE WILLFUL SIN!!!!

Hebrews 10:26-27
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Please Christians understand, CHRIST DOESN'T CONDONE WILLFUL SINNING!!!!

Hebrews 10:26-27
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
I'm sorry but I have to respectfully disagree with you. You are so correct that Christ doesn't condone willful sinning but you're mistaken if you think that Christians are bound by the mosaic law. Ill say it again, Jesus fulfilled the law. Fulfilling the law doesn't simply mean showing us how it's done, He met all the demands of the law therefore it no longer has any bearing over us. There's plenty of guidelines in the NT thats repeated from the OT so it isnt just a free for all. We're guided by the spirit and our actions should be reflective of Christ and his holiness, that's what sets christians apart IMO. Christianity is ultimately about your relationship with God, not with how well you follow the law because ...'for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ' Romans 3:23. Salvation is obtain through Christ alone, nothing can add or take away from that. The pharisees criticized the disciples for not cleaning their hands, sure, but Jesus in his usual fashion answers them beyond what they question/criticize. He literally says 'There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. ' Mark 7:15

'For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 'Romans 6:14-15

'But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.' Romans 7:6

'For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.'Romans 10:4

'knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.'Galatians 2:16

Now that we're clear that we're no longer under the law let's also acknowledge that eating certain foods will not defile you spiritually.

'Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.'I Timothy 4:1-5

I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 'Romans 14:14

'Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake; for “the earth is the Lord ’s, and all its fullness.”'I Corinthians 10:25-26
