Didn't one of the coaches see Sandusky actually abuse children in the shower? That guy had the opportunity to report that sick monster right there but didn't. I hope all involved are brought to justice. Takes a sick sick individual to pry on children.

Yes he did, he reported it to paterno anf the two administrators i was referencing above.

There are a lot of failures in the chain that occurred there.

Ok ok. So it was all mishandled by Paterno and the administrators.

That guy should've went to the police I think. But I also understand the "power" Paterno had over Penn st

Theu all should have gone to the police, or atleast one.. when we get disclosures or reports in school we all talk it over and then the person. Who directly saw or heard or was told is designated to report. The whole thing was just grossly mishandled on all levels. Cps and the cops no better, they barely investigated back in 98 when they had the opportunity to end this then.

It doesn't sound like Paterno thought he did anything wrong and he actually wanted to do a press conference to set the record straight.... In 02 he reported to head of campus police.... Something stinks here.... And Paterno was never allowed to set the record straight on threat from the school of losing his severance..... There's more to this,

There are reports indicating he was made aware of incidents in 76, 98, and then 01.. why he didnt act further only he knows. I believe he should have but i also believe that he got way more heat and disdain over it then the situation warranted, when there were so many others involved that bore more responsibility and so many other failures in the chain..

He should have been allowed to retire with dignity as far as im concerned.

This is freakin' crazy....

"Federal investigators are now looking into an unnamed prominent Penn State booster who may have been molesting young boys

Sandusky used his charity, Second Mile, to bring children into his orbit. It may now emerge that the storied football program at Penn State was itself a screen, a cover behind which boosters of the program were committing crimes against children.

In November 2011, when the Sandusky scandal broke, Pennsylvania radio host Mark Madden predicted: "I will use the only language I can---that Jerry Sandusky and Second Mile were pimping out young boys to rich [Second Mile] donors." Madden's assessment may be confirmed in the coming days and weeks.

PennLive.com reports that Second Mile's own board, a few of whose members were actually appointed and listed without their knowledge (for example, former baseball player Cal Ripken), were shut out of all significant decisions at the charity; and this secrecy even extends to a recent decision to transfer Second Mile's remaining assets to another charity for children, Arrow Child and Family Ministries

Houston-based Arrow Child and Family Ministries. It is clear, however, that Arrow Ministries has significant connections to the Bush family.

On Arrow's board of directors sits Maria Bush, the wife of Neil Bush, son Of George HW Bush and Barbara Bush. Another board member, Susie Peake, "...served in various capacities for George HW Bush for over ten years."

It's worth noting that last month, the mother of one of Second Miles' "unintentional" board members was kidnapped in Maryland, handcuffed and driven around for a full day. No ransom demands were made. She was later found unharmed in a car. The FBI are pursuing leads on a suspect. The woman is the mother of Cal Ripken. Had he been making unwelcome comments about Second Mile?"

When you read this article on the 76 claim it sounds very sketchy....

How do we know its true? Paterno reported to VP over university police in 92? If he didn't care why did he even report it? I guess after a while they may have been protecting the school.... But again, Paterno is likely collateral damage and as his legacy grew he was in a very tough spot where the mighty associated with Second Mile were never gonna take the fall...no way JS was a lone wolf..... Where were the investigators and reporters? Why didn't they follow the money trails and take down penn state university/second mile if they had to???? Nobody is innocent here.... The whole thing stinks, you can't take out 1 sacrificial lamb and leave the rest of the wolves to roam...

I agree. But just for the sake of repearing PA police and social service are a joke in general. Thats who would have been in charge of investigating.. im pretty sure it was an investigative journalist from some small paper that broke the story eventually. Cant remember exactly

As for the rest, charities are used as cover often so no real shock there. The whole thing is sad andd horrible.

Yeah her name is Sarah Ganim and she has been rendered less than useless as a current member of the msm...

As for Paterno, he never had a chance to defend himself.... We don't know who truly did or said what.... Or exactly what each of their motives were....

Paterno could have shouted his concerns from the rooftops, they were not going near the Second Mile... It appears to this day, they never touched the place...
Check out some of the comments on the blog posts I linked: http://notpsu.blogspot.com/2018/01/no-coincidence-part-2-non-investigation.html?m=1
"I think prosecutors could have made a stronger case against Raykovitz than against CSS because, unlike CSS, Raykovitz was

1. A mandated reporter of child abuse and very well paid to safeguard fatherless boys under his care.
2. A PhD child psychologist.
3. Told by Sandusky that it was a Second Mile boy in 2001.
4. Condoning Sandusky showering with boys and just advised him to wear a swimsuit. In contrast, CSS disproved of Sandusky showering with a boy and banned him from bringing boys on campus.
5. Talked out of bringing the 2001 incident to his full board by two board members (conspiracy?).
6. Working for CYS.

Number 4 especially would not have gone over well with a jury. Why not just tell Sandusky not to shower with Second Mile boys? Why tell him to wear a swimsuit if you don't suspect something improper?

As Wendy mentioned, anyone knows that a p***phile's goal is to get the boy naked in the shower so the p***phile wearing a swimsuit is not a deterrent. "

I'm not saying Paterno shouldn't have done more... Not sure if he knew or entertained any of what was reported to him.... Just think there is a much bigger scandal that was covered up... Much bigger than Paterno who seemed to almost be minding his own business
...how far back do those reporting laws go and what are the specifics? Regardless, we all have a DUTY to protect children despite the amount of baseless rumor and slander that often abound

Here's some details from 98 reporting:

May 3, 1998: Sandusky showers with an 11-year-old boy (Victim 6) and washes the boy in the football locker room. University Police and Child Protective Services investigate, with the support of Wendell Courtney, the university general counsel who later served as counsel to The Second Mile.
May 13, 1998: Detectives listen in as the mother of Victim 6 confronts Sandusky about showering with her son. She asks Sandusky if he had sexual feelings when he hugged her naked son. Sandusky admits showering with other boys as well, but refuses to promise that he will never shower with a boy again. The mother asks Sandusky if his "private parts" touched Victim 6 when he hugged him. Sandusky says, "I don't think so...maybe."
May 19, 1998: Sandusky meets again with Victim 6's mother. She says he cannot see the boy anymore. Sandusky, overheard by the detectives, says: "I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won't get it from you. I wish I were dead."
Why would an 11 year old need help in the showers????

They know it goes on and ignore it, yet agencies will kick in the doors of poor pedophiles indulging in their sick fantasies online while letting the elite pedophiles doing real physical harm walk," the private investigator added.

"Researcher Arlene Tyner, who has spent a considerable amount of time interviewing and corresponding with victims of mind control operations, noted in a Probe magazine article that some of these victims “were turned over to military/CIA doctors by p***phile fathers or other sexually abusive relatives. CIA officials also black-mailed family members known to produce ‘kiddie porn’ in order to gain control of their already abused and psychologically fragmented children.” It is certainly within the realm of possibility that the high profile childpornography raids in recent years, which invariably result in relatively few arrests and even fewer prosecutions and convictions, are not intended to punish the victimizers, but to identify and compromise them. And is it not inconceivable that the databases being compiled will be utilized as
something of a recruitment list to identify those persons who have been ‘preconditioned,’ so to speak,
for future mind control operations.

This maybe somewhat unrelated to the OP but it finally makes sense to me why;
Troops say they were told to ignore Afghan child sex abuse.

and

‘Moral bankruptcy’: US govt brushes child abuse under the carpet in Afghanistan.

Interesting, always wondered about Linkin Park's Chester Bennington. He said he was molested by a family friend for years and his father also happened to be a child sex investigator, but that's it, no more info.... Whatever happened to the guy/family friend who molested Chester? Did he go to jail or what??? Something very fishy about that whole situation leading up to his eventual suicide....was Chester going to say more? Was it truly suicide?
